Job Title: Account Manager

Reports to: Director of Account Management

Company: D&E Transport

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Total account management – daily contact with customer contacts, sales for addition shipping lane from other manufacturing site other than contacted, collections and providing data needed by the customer such as: load to truck ratio, rate quotes, tracking & tracing of loads.
• Work with the Fleet Management Team to understand freight needs for D&E Trucks.
• Accept offerings of freight from our agents who are willing to use the Broker Desk.
• Solicit offerings of freight from our agents.
• Monitor shipments in progress and keep our customers and/or agents apprised.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED
• 1 – 3 years of experience
• Preferred Qualifications:
• Ability to work at a very fast pace, flexible schedule
• Account management experience preferred.
• Ability to develop daily working relationships with carriers, agents and internal & external dispatch operations that will provide total customer service.
• Knowledge of TL freight classifications, how to get them and how to get figure density on shipments is a plus.
• Experience working in brokerage or dispatch for a flatbed, conestoga, or steel hauling company preferred.
• Good oral communication skills, strong multi-tasking skills; accurate & fast typing skills.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office including Outlook and Excel.
