The Role
Reporting to the Project Executive, the Project Controls Manager is responsible for creating and managing processes used by Project Managers and Construction Managers to manage engineering and construction on a large portfolio of solar projects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Monitor the delivery of projects and improve the processes and tools required to continuously improve quality, schedule, budget, and construction.
• Create, manage, simplify, and train on processes for Project Execution, including RFPs, Contractor Qualification, budgets, schedules, and handoffs with other departments (Development, Finance, O&M, etc).
• Assist in RFP data room compilation and bid review, including managing inputs into Procore.
• Work closely with Cost Estimating and EPC Contracting to support analysis, organization, and evaluation of external EPC bids and data.
• Manage internal schedules, including implementation of software programs.
• Manage internal budgets and spend forecasts for projects, including reporting on formal EPC change orders and internal updates to scope.
• Create process for managing project budgets and cashflows. Create regular Project Manager update process to ensure corporate cash team has correct information.
• Create Project Delivery Playbook to document and train on best practices for all aspects of project controls and execution.
• Support the development of a system for construction tracking metrics to understand project status to easily and update and report on key performance indicators.
• Administer Procore, advise on best practices for folder structures, and manage upgrades and tie-ins to other internal software systems.
• Create new tools and processes through use of Procore and internal software solutions designed to improve project management.
• Coordinate with Cost Estimating and Project Managers to overhaul bid forms and bid tabulation process to ensure clear, consistent bid and cost data for benchmarking.
• Manage and oversee the work of future Project Controls Analysts supporting the Project Execution teams.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Undergraduate Degree in engineering, project management, construction management, or equivalent.
• At least 3-5 years professional experience in EPC Project Management/Project Controls
• PMP preferred

• Experience with Salesforce (Inspire Planner, Purchasing, Forecasting) and Procore preferred; includes report building functions for efficient management and reporting of key activities, costs, and milestones
• Excellent scheduling, budget management, and database management skills required
• Strong organizational skills and high attention to detail is very important; must be able and willing to present findings to internal audiences in a professional manner

• Experience in solar/renewables preferred
• Ability to work both independently and as a part of team, knowing when to seek help
• Flexibility to modify course in real-time in response to fluid facts and circumstances
• Proactive and solution-focused communication skills which extend across all organizational and management levels.
