Overview

Our firm is currently looking for a Senior Construction Manager based in Orange County, CA. The Senior Construction Manager will support public K-12 school construction projects within a bond funded program. You will be teaming with project, program, and client leadership to provide premier educational facilities for our nation’s youth.

Responsibilities

• Provides managerial and construction oversight over all aspects of the project, including budget, schedule, quality, risk, project and document control, operational needs, contract administration, etc.
• Manage on-site work, including supervision of contractor, subcontractors, specialty consultants, etc.
• Resolves complex construction project related issues, disputes, and disagreements.
• Reviews status and overall construction project progress relative to submitted construction schedules.
• Reviews change orders from all construction projects and assesses their impact on the District.
• Assesses bid specifications for District need and probability of completion under stated timeline.
• Reviews status and monitors variances of the construction project database relative to scheduling and cost control reporting.
• Reviews and verifies submitted applications for payment and performs overall fiscal management of multiple construction projects.
• Provides functional direction over areas of responsibility including construction project schedules, cost control, dispute resolution, contract administration, and quality control.
• Reviews and monitors overall administration of contracts for the architect and related consultants.
• Reviews and takes recommended actions in resolving disputes relative to construction projects.
• Develops and recommends internal policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management or a closely related field required.
• Minimum 10 years’ of experience in project management, with a focus on education projects as an Owner’s Representative or in a consultancy capacity.
• Experience and knowledge of various project delivery methods is necessary, i.e. lease-leaseback, design-build, design-bid-build, etc.
• AIA, LEED, PMP, CCM, PE or other related accreditations a plus.
• Experience with Division of the State Architect (DSA) construction/design processes or similar.
