Cumberland Youth & Family Services is Hiring a Youth Care Specialist (part-time) Near Denton, TX

Youth Care Specialist (Part-Time)!

Come help us bring hope and healing to our residents!

At Cumberland, we focus on keeping kids safe & families together. Striving to break the cycles of trauma, neglect, abuse, abandonment, family violence, and poverty. We work to ensure residents feel empowered to believe new beginnings are possible.

Position Requirements

  • Must be 21 years old or older
  • High School Diploma
  • Education in a social services field and experience working with teens preferred.
  • Valid drivers license & clean driving record
  • Must complete background checks required by TDFPS, Department of Public Safety, FBI fingerprinting, and DFPS Central Registry
  • Work Nights, Weekends, and some Holidays
  • Sound judgment and decision-making skills
  • Professional demeanor
  • Physically perform moderate physical activity including: Stepping backward Grasping Bending at the waist and knees Twisting at the waist Side-stepping Have the ability to shifting direction quickly-180 degrees Must be able to do a reverse lunge Lower 30-50 pounds to the ground Get up and down from the floor

You will:

  • Supervise & positively interact with youth within prescribed boundaries.
  • Maintain a positive and supportive relationship with a team to provide our residents consistency & structure.
  • Interact professionally and collaboratively with the youth’s family, TDFPS Caseworker, CASA, and attorneys
  • Ensure timely and accurate compliance with documentation about shift and residents
  • Participate in and support agency-wide staff meetings and activities.
  • Maintain the daily schedule for school, theraputic activities & appointments
  • Assist in the timely fulfillment/execution of goals set forth on each resident’s individualized Plans of Service

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $14.00 - $18.00 per hour

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift

Education:

  • High school or equivalent (Required)

Experience:

  • Direct Care with youth: 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification:

  • Driver License and clean driving record (Required)

  • Denton, TX 76201: Relocate before starting work (Required)
