Culpepper's Grill and Bar is Hiring a Line Cook Near Charles, MO

 Hours are primarily afternoon and evenings till 10:30 - Schedule is very flexible -
We are looking for an experienced Cook to join our team! You will be preparing and cooking a variety of dishes for restaurant guests to enjoy.
 
You are passionate about creating exceptional dining experiences through good, quality food. With previous experience as a cook, you are able to manage multiple priorities and contribute to a friendly and productive team atmosphere. Ideally, you have your ServeSafe or Food Handler’s certification.
Job Title: Line/Prep Cook
Department: Restaurant Operations
Reports To: Management Team
Job Description:
Primary Responsibilities: Complete all assigned prep work and sets up cooks station. Maintains product presentations, product quality and cook time standards. Prepares all menu items according to CULPEPPERS specifications.
Specific Functions and Duties: 
  • Prepares menu items according to CULPEPPERS recipes, plate presentations and specifications. 
  • Completes all assigned prep work. 
  • Sets up workstation according to line schematics. 
  • Practices sanitary and safe food handling and complies with all health and safety codes at all times. 
  • Cleans and sanitizes the work area before, during and after shift. 
  • Runs dishes through dishwasher when necessary. 
  • Empties trash when necessary. 
  • Cleans line equipment, such as filtering fryers, on a daily basis. 
  • Completes assigned daily and weekly cleaning projects. 
  • Communicates in a professional manner with the front of house staff. 
Qualification Standards: 
  • Ability to place plates, utensils, pans and cases on high and low shelves. 
  • Reading, writing and verbal communication skills required. 
  • Capable of using knives, slicing equipment and other food preparation equipment. 
  • Mobility required during entire shift. 
  • Transport cases up to 30 pounds throughout shift. 
  • Able to respond in emergency situations to avoid imminent dangers to self and others. We 
Responsibilities: 
  • Inspect and clean food preparation areas, such as equipment and work surfaces or serving areas to ensure safe and sanitary food-handling practices
  • Ensure freshness of food and ingredients by checking for quality, keeping track of old and new items, and rotating stock
  • Ensure food is stored and cooked at correct temperature by regulating the temperature of ovens, broilers, grills, and roasters
  • Season and cook food according to recipes or personal judgment and experience
  • Turn or stir foods to ensure even cooking
  • Respond to guest feedback with appropriate urgency and professionalism 
  • Qualifications: 
  • Previous experience as a restaurant cook preferred 
  • ServeSafe or Food Handler’s certification (or must be willing to attain)
  • Effective communication skills 
  • Ability to lift 30 lbs 
  • Ability to work standing for 8 hours
