These providers bring their unparalleled expertise at the forefront of medicine to deliver trusted, compassionate health care services at primary and specialty care clinics as well as facilities operated by affiliate hospitals of the University of Colorado. Currently we are seeking a motivated Patient Scheduler to support our Cardiothoracic Surgery team. This job can be performed 100% remotely. While this job can be performed remotely, the expectation is that the individual in this role will work on Mountain Standard business hours.The Patient Scheduler will perform a broad range of clinical scheduling duties across multiple Denver metro clinic locations which includes but is not limited to: Maintain the front office functions, including managing inbound telephone calls, assisting callers &/or message messages when necessary. Callers may include other medical centers, physicians, insurance companies, home health agencies, or patients and must be handled professionally and with confidentiality.Manage referral work queues, EPIC in basket messages, online patient scheduling requests, and provider clinic templates. Verify and update demographic and primary care provider (PCP) information in EPIC.Coordinate and obtain referrals and referral authorizations for clinic appointments. Retrieve medical records and other medical information as requested.Review appropriate reports and work queues for scheduling accuracy. Manage incoming faxes and route appropriately. Follow HIPAA guidelines at all times while handling sensitive situations involving patients and constituents which includes maintaining and controlling confidential or classified material.Attend relevant meetings to facilitate communication of key information regarding patient scheduling or other activities related to the accomplishment of the Division’s clinical activities Provide cross-coverage as required for other patient scheduling roles. Participate in all staff meetings within the Division and contribute towards any ongoing staff projects. Perform other duties as assigned by the Officer Supervisor, Business Program Manager, Division Director, or Division Head. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a healthcare setting; prior patient scheduling via electronic medical record system is preferred. Strong PC skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office is required. High level verbal and written communication in conjunction with professional telephone etiquette is essential to success. Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to maintain a positive attitude at all times and work with a diversified customer/patient clientele is required. Must be personable, collaborative, and work well under pressure. The ideal candidate will successfully multi-task and balance competing priorities. The ability to act independently while also maintaining positive working relationships is key. Must maintain confidentiality at all times; familiarity with HIPAA guidelines strongly preferred.
