Job Description

Heavy-duty technician to perform maintenance on CTtransit's fleet of buses.

Examples of Duties

1. Full time experience as a heavy-duty fleet mechanic required.
2. Requires an individual with a stable work history
3. Valid Commercial Drivers License (CDL) with required endorsements.
4. The necessary skills and tools to perform preventative maintenance, inspections and general repairs on all buses, company vehicles and equipment.
5. Proficient in hydraulics, electrical systems, air brakes and mechanical systems.
6. Ability to quickly diagnose/correct mechanical and electrical problems, follow directions and work independently.
7. Successful completion of CTtransit DC Electrical Training course, Brakes and Steering, and Suspension training courses.
8. Operate buses on property and for road tests, also required to respond to service calls for breakdowns while buses are in service.
9. All other duties as directed by the crew leader or supervision.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED
• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Valid driver license (CDL license is required and must be obtained within 90 days of employment)
• Three (3) years of heavy duty fleet mechanic experience (diesel preferred). Specialized schooling may be substituted for a portion of the work experience.
