CTSHealth is Hiring a Billing Specialist Near Chicago, IL

Who we are

CTS Health Services is a community mental health services center that specializes in a holistic approach to health and wellness for children, parents, and adults of varying circumstances and mental challenges. We provide one-on-one behavioral interventions for our clients and their support circles to help our clients navigate through life within their community at their highest level.

A Billing Specialist is responsible for assisting with overseeing the billing process for customers or patients. Their duties include processing payments on behalf of a customer or patient, maintaining organized financial records to aide reporting and calculating bill totals by looking through previous financial statements

**This individual must live in or around the CHicagoland area due to needing to commute to the office when needed**

The ideal Billing Specialist candidate will possess the following:

  • Currently living in or around the Chicagoland area, required.
  • Understanding of ICD-10 and CPT coding
  • Medical Billing - 5 years, preferably with both physical and mental health
  • Certification, education, or training in medical billing and coding, preferred
  • Experience with billing and insurance verfication with Medicaid, Medicare, and Commercial payer
  • Experience with payment posting and end of day reconciliation
  • Strong computer skills including MS Excel and proficiency working with spreadsheets.
  • Great organizational, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-motivated, work independently with minimal direction.

The Billing Specialist's responsibilitites consists of, but not limited to:

  • Coding outpatient medical and behavioral health medical records.
  • Reconciling insurance claim denials in a timely manner.
  • Identifies carrier-related denial trends and payment problems that need to be reported to the Finance and Operations Department.
  • Creates and submits accurate spreadsheets of outstanding accounts receivable to assigned payors and pursues balances owed.
  • Verifies that the services are correctly authorized and that required documentation is on file prior to billing.
  • Ensures that all required documentation for billing is completed and accurate prior to claim submission.
  • Submits timely, accurate invoices to payer for products and services provided.
  • Submit invoices to patients and recoup any outstanding balances on patient accounts within the proper timeframe.
  • May assist in training new team members.
  • Other duties tasked by immediate supervisor
