Job Summary:
As an Instructional Coach for New Teaching Faculty Members, you will play a pivotal role in supporting and enhancing the professional development of newly hired educators. Your primary focus will be on fostering effective teaching practices, facilitating smooth integration into the academic community, and ensuring the success of new faculty members in their instructional roles.
Qualifications & Desired Attributes:
  • Professes a strong Christian faith in Jesus Christ and demonstrates regular attendance at a Bible-believing church aligned with the CSAGH Statement of Faith.
  • Agrees with and upholds the principles outlined in Articles II, III, and XII, section 1 of the Constitution of the Christian School Association of Greater Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
  • Holds a bachelor’s degree in education as a minimum qualification.
  • Exhibits a clear commitment to Christian Education and a wholehearted embrace of CSAGH's vision.
  • Demonstrates prior classroom experience as a teacher.
  • Self-motivated, dynamic, well-organized, and adaptable individual with a genuine desire to connect with, nurture, and minister to children.
  • Proficient in educational best practices and effective teaching methods, with the ability to engage and build trust and rapport with the learners.
  • Cultivates healthy and positive relationships with students, parents, colleagues, and school administration.
  • Willingness to participate in professional development and training as required.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Orientation and Onboarding:
    • Conduct comprehensive orientation sessions to familiarize new teaching faculty members with institutional policies, procedures, and resources.
    • Provide support during the initial onboarding period to ease the transition into the academic community.
  • Pedagogical Support:
    • Collaborate with new faculty members to assess their teaching goals and develop personalized professional development plans.
    • Offer guidance on effective instructional strategies, classroom management, and student engagement techniques.
    • Conduct classroom observations and provide constructive feedback to enhance teaching effectiveness.
  • Curriculum Development:
    • Assist in the development and refinement of instructional materials and curriculum, aligning with institutional standards and best practices.
    • Collaborate with academic departments to ensure new faculty members are well-versed in the curriculum and instructional expectations.
  • Professional Development:
    • Coordinate and facilitate workshops, seminars, and training sessions on various pedagogical topics.
    • Stay current with educational trends and advancements, sharing relevant information with faculty members to enhance their teaching skills.
  • Mentoring and Coaching:
    • Establish mentorship relationships with new faculty members to provide ongoing guidance and support.
    • Conduct regular coaching sessions to address specific challenges and promote continuous improvement in teaching practices.
  • Assessment and Feedback:
    • Assist in the development and implementation of assessment strategies to evaluate the effectiveness of instructional programs.
    • Provide timely and constructive feedback to new faculty members based on student evaluations and other performance metrics.
  • Community Engagement:
    • Foster a sense of community among new faculty members, encouraging collaboration and the exchange of best practices.
    • Act as a liaison between new faculty and other academic support services within the institution.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's in Education or a related field.
  • Previous experience in instructional coaching, teacher mentoring, or faculty development preferred.
  • Strong understanding of pedagogical best practices and current trends in higher education.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups of faculty and staff.
Physical Requirements:
  • The employee needs to communicate verbally and listen regularly.
  • The ability to stand, sit, and move around the classroom for extended periods.
  • Lifting, bending, and carrying classroom materials and supplies.
  • Effective communication, both verbal and written.
