    Crystal Lake School District 47 currently has an opening for an Instructional Coach, beginning the 2024-2025 school year. The role of the Instructional Coach is to build teacher capacity and their understanding of instructional practices. Instructional Coaches will work in cooperation with district office, building administration, teams, and classroom teachers to ensure the fidelity and implementation of high quality curriculum and instruction that benefits all students through job-embedded professional learning. This will be done through the promotion of reflection, providing guidance and structure where needed, a focus on strengths, collaboration and common issues of concern. This is not a supervisory position and does not include evaluation of colleagues.
    Duties and Responsibilities:
    • Provide job-embedded professional learning through a student-centered coaching model that is intended to enhance teacher classroom and instructional practices with the intent of improving student learning
    • Support staff through professional growth coaching cycles that are ongoing, goal oriented, connected to student learning, and improve instructional practice and classroom environment (Tier 1 behavior management)
    • Collaborate with teachers with designing instructional decisions based on assessment data and culturally and linguistically responsive practices within the Tier I environment.
    • Communicate and demonstrate evidence-based instructional practices that result in increased student performance and improved classroom environment through collaborative co-planning, modeling and co-teaching
    • Support, implement and assess various instructional programs and program effects on student achievement including differentiation for learners that are working to meet grade level standards, learners who are advanced, and learners from different language backgrounds
    • Support the building professional learning plan by facilitating professional development
    • Create positive relationships with teachers and administrators
    • Collaborate with staff in all departments within Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment.
    • Communicate with building leaders and administration to build a culture that supports all staff through risk taking, innovation, and informed best approaches
    • Support and participate in instruction with all students
    • Utilize instructional technology and support teachers with technology
    • Support diverse learners and teachers of bilingual classrooms
    • React to change productively and handle other tasks as assigned
    • Commitment to ongoing personal professional learning
    • Other duties as assigned
    Skills and Experience Required:
    • Valid Professional Educator License - Elementary (K-9) or Secondary (6-12)
    • 5 or more years of exemplary classroom experience preferred
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • In-depth knowledge of developing early literacy, math skills, social studies and science
    • Teacher leadership experience preferred
    Physical/Mental Requirements:
    • Demonstrate high levels of flexibility, interpersonal skills, articulation, concentration, confidentiality and organizational skills
    • Physical requirements include sitting, standing, bending, walking, and lifting equipment of materials
