Crystal Lake School District 47 currently has an opening for an Elementary Fine Arts Teacher (.25), beginning the 2024-2025 school year. The goals of this position include creating a flexible, grade-appropriate program and class environment favorable to learning and personal growth; establishing effective rapport with students; motivating students to develop skills, attitudes, and knowledge needed to provide a good foundation for elementary grade education, in accordance with each student’s ability; and establishing positive relationships with parents and other staff members.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Instruct an age appropriate STEM (Project Lead the Way), music, physical education, art, and health curriculum, as adopted by the Board of Education
Provide individual and small group instruction, in accordance with the time allotted, in order to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each student
Instruct students in state-mandated goals of STEM, music, physical education, art, and health education, as specified in the school code
Plan a well-balanced STEM (Project Lead the Way), music, physical education, art, and health program
Organize daily class time so preparation, rehearsal, or instruction can be accomplished within the allotted time
Instruct students in citizenship and procedures of the school and district
Work with current building and district Fine Arts team to coordinate teaching units and skills
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Valid Illinois Professional Educator License
Elementary Education endorsement
Project Lead the Way experience is preferred
Bachelor’s Degree in Education
Student teaching and/or experience in a K-5 classroom
PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
Demonstrate high levels of flexibility, interpersonal skills, articulation, concentration, confidentiality and organization
Physical requirements include sitting, standing, bending, walking, and lifting equipment or materials
