Crumbl is Hiring a Tax Manager Near Lindon, UT

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Tax Manager to join our dynamic team. As a Tax Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all domestic tax issues within our organization. You will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with tax regulations, minimizing tax liabilities, and providing strategic tax planning advice. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in tax compliance, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to communicate complex tax concepts effectively.

The position reports to the Sr. Director of Tax, though you can receive guidance from any of the directors in the finance department as needed. This position is expected to be able to work independently. The person who fills this position will need to communicate clearly with accountants and non-accountants alike in order to fulfill their responsibilities.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Tax Compliance: Ensure compliance with all federal, state/provincial, and local tax regulations for the company.
  • Tax Planning: Develop and implement tax strategies to minimize the company's tax liabilities while maximizing tax benefits.
  • Franchise Tax Oversight: Provide guidance and support to franchisees on tax-related matters, including tax reporting, deductions, and credits.
  • Tax Research: Stay updated on changes to tax laws and regulations, conduct research on tax issues, and provide recommendations to management.
  • Financial Analysis: Analyze financial data to identify tax implications and optimize tax planning strategies.
  • Tax Reporting: Prepare and review tax returns, including corporate income tax, sales tax, and other tax filings as required.
  • Audit Support: Serve as the primary point of contact for tax audits, liaise with external auditors, and ensure compliance with audit requests.
  • Training and Education: Conduct training sessions for franchisees and internal staff on tax compliance and best practices.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential tax risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize exposure.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including finance, legal, and operations, to ensure tax implications are considered in business decisions.
Other Duties

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA designation preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in tax compliance and planning, preferably in a franchise or multi-unit retail environment.
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state/provincial, and local tax laws and regulations.
  • Experience with preparing tax returns and ERP systems; proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex tax concepts to non-tax professionals.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Team player with a collaborative mindset and the ability to build strong working relationships.
