THE KIND OF WORK YOU’LL BE DOING:

• Reconcile bank statements with internal financial records (including sub ledgers) to identify discrepancies and resolve any issues including communicating outstanding items to other teams or departments, facilitating the entry or correction as needed, and ensuring items are resolved in a timely manner consistent with the internal reconciliation policy

• Assist in maintaining the general ledger by organizing and classifying financial transactions, ensuring proper documentation and accuracy.

• Assist during internal or external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations of financial transactions

• Prepare and file tax forms and reports, adhering to relevant tax regulations and guidelines including sales tax, tangible personal property, unclaimed property, etc.

• Work collaboratively with other team members, accountants, and financial managers to achieve departmental goals and support the overall financial health of the organization.

• Assist in implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP.

• Record the cost of newly acquired fixed assets, calculate depreciation, perform accounting for disposition of fixed assets and fixed assets retirement.

• Assist with compliance to ASC 842 (lease accounting standard) by reviewing contracts for lease criteria, classifying leases, preparing entries to record leases to the general ledger, and maintaining lease accounting software

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
• Minimum of 1 year of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
