Credit Union of Georgia is Hiring an Accountant Near Kennesaw, GA

Description

Are you looking for a rewarding career with an organization that puts people first? Credit Union of Georgia is looking for a talented accountant to help our growing company.

This individual will report to the VP of Finance and Accounting and assist in the day-to-day and month-end accounting. Additionally, this individual will assist in the completion of the Company’s annual audits and special projects. Assures all accounts payable/receivable functions are accurately and efficiently maintained. In addition to performing other account functions, general ledger reconcilements, and ensuring the accurate and time preparation/review of certain daily/monthly/quarterly/annual reports as assigned.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for upholding Credit Union of Georgia brand standards including following all of the steps of our unique member experience and to Engage, Ask, Solve and Excite and deliver top level member service.
  • Prepare journal entries, including but not limited to accruals, allocations, and reclassifications etc.
  • Reconcile Balance Sheet accounts, resolve issues timely, and ensure balances are properly supported and explained
  • Perform account research and analyses to determine trends, estimates, and significant changes.
  • Partner with other departments to ensure all internal controls are adhered to and financial statements are fairly and accurately presented.
  • Post A/P payments
  • Enter Bills and prepare for payment
  • Assist in audits when applicable
  • Set up all Prepaids and Fixed Assets within software
  • Cross train and learn other accounting functions to better support the accounting department.
  • Partner with other departments to ensure all internal controls are adhered to and financial statements are fairly and accurately presented.
  • Support finance & operational staff to identify and solve business problems, support strategic growth initiatives, and help improve operating results
  • Provide assistance to the Controller when special projects or tasks are needed in accordance with your job duties.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
  • Minimum 3 years of accounting experience, with a credit union or bank preferred.
  • Knowledgeable of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
  • Competent in accounting and financial practices and procedures
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Must be proactive, detailed and results oriented.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
