- Understands the accrual basis method of accounting.
- Recording prepaid expenses and accruals as needed and expensing when appropriate.
- Enter payroll data into accounting software from payroll reports.
- Recognizing fixed asset expenditures and capitalizing on balance sheet.
- Records month/quarter-end adjustments as needed.
- Preparation of 1099's.
- Maintains effective work paper techniques and correct documentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications for The Staff Accountant
- A bachelor's degree in accounting or similar field is a plus.
- Prior experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable or accounting department is preferred
- 2 years of accounting experience.
