This position is responsible for developing a systemwide philanthropic strategy and for leading all charitable giving at the corporate level, while overseeing fundraising activities at the community level. Philanthropic programs include raising annual, major, and planned gifts, and managing the foundation and corporate grants program The philanthropy strategy will be driven by the organization’s mission and strategic goals. This position works closely with the Executive Leadership Team to build on a comprehensive culture of giving at Covenant Living by shaping the future of the organization’s philanthropy program in support of the Benevalent Fund and other key initiatives. This position will promote a culture of giving in which board, staff, and residents are fully equipped and engaged as ambassadors, embracing their roles as an integral part of Covenant Living’s philanthropy efforts. This position is both internal and external facing. It is accountable for leading the Regional Director(s) of Philanthropy to drive execution by removing barriers for the team and monitoring metrics to optimize the charitable support of Covenant Living Communities. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Sets the strategy and tone for fundraising, emphasizing the implementation of innovative ideas for securing donations. Builds a culture of giving across the organization and the communities. Coaches and manages a high performing team of fundraising professionals to execute effectively on goals. Establishes and maintains metrics and dashboards to monitor performance towards achieving goals. Builds a culture of continuous improvement by using data to make decisions and make course corrections if necessary. Leads and directs the identification, qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of annual, major and planned gift, corporate, and foundation prospects/donors. Works closely with Marketing to build greater program visibility through digital communications, social media and other cultivation and communication tools. Serves as an active partner with the community leadership team, collaborating to create gift opportunities that have the greatest impact for the community and Covenant Living Communities & Services. Leads and manages the grant research, selection, application, and reporting requirements for the organization in collarobation with the executive leadership team. Creates,executes, and reports on an annual and a long term strategic plan to ensure fundraising goals are met. EDUCATION & WORK EXPERIENCE: Required Degree Bachelor's Preferred Degree: Master's Experience: Minimum of 10 years of increasing experience,responsibility, and outcomes for a comprehensive fundraising program. Record of success in personally soliciting and closing multiple cash and/or planned gifts of $500,000 . Successful record of accomplishment in managing a major comprehensive campaign ($25 million ) in senior living, higher education, and/or healthcare is preferred. Extensive experience with annual, major, and planned gifts is required. Familiar with donor cycle and the moves management process in a CRM platform. General experience in healthcare and / or senior living environment preferred. Strong people leadership and development experience. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITY: Experience with BlackBaud CRM or similar donor management software. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Exceptional verbal and written presentation skills to all levels. Polished, professional demeanor and interpersonal skills to partner effectively with key stakeholders in a matrix environment. (Sales team, creative team, community leaders, etc). Ability to develop, organize, and execute on long-term plans..
