Job DescriptionAs a Channel Sales Manager, you would be responsible for developing and executing sales strategies to drive revenue growth of firearm sales through retail channels. You will play a crucial role in establishing and maintaining relationships with retail partners, ensuring their needs are met while aligning with the company's objectives.
This position will be remote, but applicants should live in KS, AR, MO, or NE & be comfortable with 25% travel. Key Responsibilities: Developing Sales Strategies: Create and implement effective sales strategies to achieve revenue targets within the firearms retail sector. Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer preferences to identify opportunities for growth. Retail Partner Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with firearms retail partners, including gun shops, sporting goods stores, and specialty retailers. Serve as the primary point of contact for retail partners, addressing inquiries, providing product information, and resolving issues in a timely manner. Product Education and Training: Conduct product training sessions for retail staff to ensure they have a deep understanding of the company's firearms offerings. Provide sales materials, product samples, and other resources to support retail partners in promoting and selling firearms effectively. Sales Support: Collaborate with internal teams, including marketing, logistics, and customer service, to support retail partners and facilitate the sales process. Coordinate with these teams to ensure timely delivery of products, resolve order discrepancies, and address any other issues that may arise. Market Analysis and Forecasting: Monitor market trends, consumer behavior, and competitor activities to inform sales strategies and product development efforts. Provide regular reports and insights to management regarding sales performance, market dynamics, and emerging opportunities or challenges. Compliance and Regulatory Oversight: Ensure that all sales activities comply with applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards governing the sale and distribution of firearms. Stay informed about changes in legislation or regulations that may impact sales operations and take appropriate action to maintain compliance. Budget Management: Develop and manage budgets for sales initiatives, promotional activities, and other expenses related to channel sales operations. Monitor expenditures, track performance against budget targets, and adjust plans as necessary to optimize resource allocation.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, or a related field (preferred). Experience selling firearms, or related merchandise to retailers Proven experience in sales, preferably in the firearms industry or a related field. Strong understanding of retail sales principles and practices, with the ability to develop and execute effective sales strategies. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and negotiate effectively with retail partners. Knowledge of firearms regulations and compliance requirements is highly desirable. Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret sales data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions. Self-motivated and results-oriented, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time to meet with retail partners and attend industry events or trade shows.
