Reports to: Director of Production
The Production Supervisor role is a key position for us at Crane 1 as we accelerate our growth and work toward our goal of being the #1 independent, full solution provider in the US overhead crane industry.
In addition to leading a skilled team of production staff and ensuring a positive and collaborative work environment, the Production Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing our manufacturing processes to ensure efficiency, quality, and timely delivery of products. This role is crucial to ensure the efficient flow of materials, resources, and information throughout the production process.
Production Supervisor Role & Responsibilities
Champion a safety-first culture among the production team.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations, industry standards, and company policies.
Maintain a safe and secure working environment, conduct monthly safety meetings, and perform regular inspections/audits,
Direct and coordinate day-to-day activities of the shop personnel to ensure the timely and efficient production of overhead cranes.
Implement a detailed, constraint-based, production schedule to meet promised deliveries.
Organize, monitor, and prioritize tasks to meet production goals.
Provide timely updates on production progress and address any potential bottlenecks.
Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless communication and coordination throughout the production cycle.
Conduct regular performance reviews, provide constructive feedback, and support professional development initiatives.
Lead weekly production meetings and provide updates.
Purchase and maintain optimal inventory of consumables essential to the manufacturing process.
Identify material/component damages or shortages and work closely with our vendors to address and rectify issues promptly.
Oversee the setup of freight and logistics for outbound equipment, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery to customers.
Continuously identify areas for improvement in production processes to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and increase productivity.
Production Supervisor Skills and Experience
KNOWLEDGE: Proven experience in a manufacturing supervisory role, preferably in the heavy machinery or material handling industry.
SKILLS:
In-depth knowledge of production processes, quality control standards, and safety regulations.
Exceptional leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
Strong aptitude for continuous improvement, regularly evaluating and optimizing workflows, identifying inefficiencies, and implementing changes to enhance overall efficiency and productivity.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Proficient data entry and computer skills, including MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and web-based applications.
ABILITY: A passion for providing top-notch customer service to our customers. Positive and collaborative approach to teamwork and competition.
Other duties as assigned by the Director of Production.
