We are currently seeking a highly motivated and detailed-oriented individual to join our team as a Commercial Sales Estimator. In this role, you will play a crucial part in our process by accurately estimating project costs, preparing competitive bids, and supporting the overall sales and operation teams. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial construction or related industries, possess excellent analytical skills, and demonstrate the ability to collaborate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

1. Cost Estimation:

• Analyze project specifications and blueprints to determine the scope of work, time, labor, cost, and materials required.
• Utilize industry knowledge and cost databases to accurately estimate project costs.
• Collaborate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive quotes.

2. Bid Preparation:

• Prepare comprehensive and competitive bids based on accurate cost estimations.
• Develop and present detailed bid proposals to sales and management in a timely and professional manner.
• Work closely with the sales and project management teams to ensure bid requirements are met.
• Maintain thorough records of all project documentation, including estimates, receipts, and project completion documentation.

3. Market Research:

• Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities.
• Provide insights and recommendations on pricing strategies to maximize competitiveness.

4. Collaboration and Communication:

• Liaise with internal teams, including sales and finance, to ensure alignment on project details and cost considerations.
• Communicate effectively with clients to address inquiries, clarify bid details, and negotiate terms.

5. Continuous Improvement:

• Actively seek opportunities for process improvement in the estimation and bidding process.
• Stay up-to-date with new technologies, methodologies in estimating and maintain an in-depth knowledge of complete line of products/services and customers' needs.

Qualifications

• Minimum of High School Diploma/Vocational Training.
• Must have industry knowledge and/or experience.
• Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and industry regulations.
• Proficient in using estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent analytical and mathematical skills.
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
• Effective communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to clear a drug screening.
• Preferred: possess NICET I or ESA equivalent certifications

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties on the job, this employee is regularly required to:

• Stand; walk; sit; twist; use hands to handle; reach with hands and arms; push; pull; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk and hear.
• Use vision abilities including: close, distance, peripheral, depth, and color.
• Work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions/circumstances such as climbing ladders, scaffolding and high lift equipment; work in ducts, crawl spaces, attics, above ceilings; lift, move, and hold up to approximately 50 lbs.
• Must be able to work a full-time, flexible schedule with “on call availability” and be able to travel on short notice.
• Must be able to drive a motor vehicle (day and evenings) for extended time periods.
