A.POSITIONSUMMARYDirectorofFinanceisresponsibleformanagingandoverseeingallfacetsoftheagency'saccounting operations,includingmonthlyclosecycle,generalledgeraccounting,treasury,internalcontroland policydevelopment.TheDirectorofFinancewillalsomanageanddevelopFinancestafftoensure thatagencypoliciesandproceduresarefollowedaswellasoutsideguidancetoensurethatfinancial outputsarecomplete,accurateandproducedinatimelymanner.
B.POSITIONDUTIES1.ManagetheoperationsoftheGLteam,includingthedesignofanorganizationalstructureadequate for achieving the departments' goals and objectives.2.Overseethemonthlyandannualgeneralledgeraccountingcloseprocess,managingtoacentral globaltimetable,andvalidateaccuracyoftheresults,includingbutnotlimitedto:a.Review and approval of journal entries and sub ledger closings prior to posting to the generalledger.b.Reviewandapprovalofmonthly,quarterlyandyearlyanalysispreparedbysubordinates to ensure completeness andaccuracy.3.Overseetheaccuracyandproductivityofday-to-dayactivitiesregardingtreasuryfunctionsand other general ledger accountingtransactions.4.AssistGLandBillingteamstoensurerevenuesarebilledintimelymanner,recordedtogeneral ledgerappropriatelyandreconciledproperlytothegeneralledgeronamonthlybasis.5.Overseethe3monthcashflowprojectiontomonitoragenciescashflowneedsaswellasprovide recommendations for investmentsopportunities.6.AssistinpreparationofIRSForm990andNewYorkStateCharitiesBureauFormCHARS00in accordance with the rules and regulationsrequired.7.Preparation,enforcementandcontinuedreviewandeditofPoliciesandProceduresfrombeginning ofprocessthroughtheendtoensurethesafeguardingoftheagenciesassetsandcompliancewith allregulationsfromourfundersaswellasGAAP.8.Train,developandevaluatestaff.Implementtrainingprogramsinordertohelpstaffmaximize potential and reach individual and agencygoals.9.Coordinateyearendauditswithexternalauditorsandoverseethepreparationofauditschedules, data,infonnationandfinancialstatementswhilemanagingrelationshipswithoutsideauditfinns and other providers asappropriate.10.CollaboratewithotherFinancemanagerstoincreaseefficiencyinfinancialprocessesthatcross departmentallines.11.WorkwithFinancialSystemstoensureaccountingandfinancialsystemsforthedepartmenthave robust controls, are compliant with regulations, and up to date when taking into consideration current businessneeds.12.Providesstatusoffinancialconditionoftheagency,whenrequested,bycollecting,interpreting and reporting key financialdata.
C.REQUIREMENTS1.BS degree inAccounting.2.Strong interpersonalskills.3.Seven years accounting experience, which would include managerialexperience.4.Knowledge of personal computer andSpreadsheets.5.Performs all job responsibilities in full compliance with all applicable laws, rules, regulations,policies and procedures. Adheres to the agency' s corporate compliance program, including the code of business conduct, the NYS and Federal False Claims Acts, whistleblower protections and mandatory reporting. Completes corporate compliance training at least annually.Fully cooperates in all corporate compliance investigations andreviews.
