JOB SUMMARY
The Opioid Outreach Coordinator is responsive to the needs of the community and is responsible for developing an education and outreach plan to ultimately decrease opioid use and misuse; assists with scheduling, creating education and outreach material, planning workshops/training events, and attends community events to disseminates outreach to increase awareness. This position will be front desk reception in order to build trusted relationships with the tribal community. This is a grant funded position and unless additional funding is secured this position may end in one year.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES Essential functions may include any of the following tasks, knowledge, skills, and other characteristics. Incumbent(s) may or may not be required to perform all duties listed, and may be required to perform additional, position-specific tasks.
1. Supports the development and implementation of an education and outreach plan for the opioid prevention program.
2. Assists with data collection measures.
3. Assists with facility training on topics related to opioid use.
4. Works with other County and Tribal programs to coordinate training schedule for staff and community.
5. Assists with outreach campaign on ending opioid use and increasing awareness of resources and prevention.
6. Educate Members of the community on resources available.
7. Works positively with referral agencies, internal staff, other tribal departments and clients.
8. Supports the opioid program by greeting incoming clients as they arrive to or call the Department.
9. Frequently assists with front office reception, answering phones, routing calls, and assisting with member and victim services.
10.Assist the membership with resources and documentation requests, etc.
11.Responsible for mailing out correspondence to the membership.
12. Assists with managing tribal distributions.
13. Assists with the ordering of supplies and tracking inventory.
14.Available to work weekends and evenings if needed.
15.Adheres to a strict confidentiality standard.
16.Maintains professional behavior with positive representation of Coyote Valley while on and off the clock.
17.In the event of community emergencies, assist with disaster response.
18.Attends community cultural, tribal and/or non-profit events.
19.Perform other duties as assigned.

About the Department
Created in 1996, the department contracts directly from the Indian Health Services, Contract Health Services (CHS) under a Pub. L. 93-638 contract as well as other health and human services grants. The department supports approximately 400 eligible tribal members and residents. The department operates under a community-oriented philosophy that centers on the tribal community.
