The Fire Sprinkler Fitter is responsible for the installation of a fire sprinkler system under the supervision of the foreman. Every position is responsible for safety, prevention of waste, continual improvement, and the following company procedures.

Essential Functions, Duties, Responsibilities:

• Responsible, under the supervision of the foreman, for reading fire sprinkler blueprints, for installation of fire sprinkler systems, including start up through final testing.
• Responsible for following verbal and written instructions from foreman, superintendent, project manager.
• Responsible for maintaining a clear and safe work area

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

• Communicate effectively with foreman and other workers
• Knowledge of safety procedures
• Ability to read blueprints and install the appropriate materials accordingly
• Specialized knowledge of fire sprinkler heads, and system testing
• Strength to carry equipment, tools or pipe weighing up to 50 pounds, and to lift 50 pounds of weight above your head
• Must be physically capable of performing work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions, such as climbing scaffolding, and high lift equipment up to 60 feet or more.
• Ability to climb and work from ladders and operate machinery.
• Favorably pass a criminal background check, DMV driving record check and pass a drug screen test.
• Must be capable of completing and submitting time reports and other documents as required.
• Ability to operate the a rigid 300, Porta-band, small electrical tools

Tools and Equipment Needed:

• Channel locks, tape measure, torpedo level

Required Qualifications:

Education/License/Certifications:

• Prefer high school diploma or GED
• Valid drivers license and reliable transportation
• Recommend completion of 4-year Apprenticeship Program
