Covenant Logistics Group is Hiring a Data Analyst Near Chattanooga, TN

Overview

The purpose of the Data Analyst position is to work with the business units to understand their business problems and with an analytics framework provide meaningful business insights. This position works to collect data to provide statistical analysis to identify growth opportunities for the business, safety, data, and technology. This role is also crucial to creating data movement and mashups from on premise data (structured and unstructured) to the cloud utilizing the ETL tools necessary to extend data in a method that is conducive to the overall center of gravity for enterprise self-service reporting.

Responsibilities

• Build relationships with users to better understand their business, and to enable them to better understand how to use analytics to drive their business• Work with programmers, engineer, and data scientists to structure solutions based on analytics tools and techniques.• Uncover and synthesize connections, solutions and opportunities that are not always so clear• Be an enthusiastic problem solver - breaking down problems and developing analytical insights• Build and demonstrate capabilities to execute deliverables end-to-end including last mile to delivery with minimal handholding.• Develop code, statistical models, dashboards, and presentations as per user requirements.• Manage multiple tasks by paying close attention to detail• Embrace change, adapt to the unexpected, and focus energies, people, and solutions on practical and positive results• Cleaning and dissecting data to get rid of irrelevant information• Data analysis and exploration, pinpointing trends, and patterns in data sets • Analyzing and interpreting results using statistical tools and techniques • Create/Capture documentation that is up to date

Qualifications

Knowledge Skills, and Abilities• Critical thinking skills • Expert knowledge in using SQL to understand data• Knowledge of Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence • Strong communications skills (verbal, spoken and written)• Ability to work well within a team, work effectively within a team and more broadly with people from a variety of backgrounds and areas across the organization.• Ability to multi-task while paying close attention to detail• Ability to embrace change, adapt to the unexpected, and focus energies where priority mattersEducation and Experience• Bachelors in Statistics, Operations Research, Computer Engineering or Business Management required.• Advanced degree in a quantitative discipline, preferably Mathematics/Statistics or similar preferred.• Relevant experience in analytics consulting and professional services preferred• Experience on modeling and deploying analytics solutions preferred• Experience in using statistical programming language like Python preferred• Experience in dash-boarding tools like Power BI, Domo and Microsoft Excel preferred

Covenant’s compensation philosophy’s intent is to use a competitive total compensation strategy to determine the current market value of a position while also considering individual factors such as performance in current position, time in seat of current position, experience, level of responsibility/accountability, and longevity with the company. The system will be objective and non-discriminatory.Pay Range: $72,154.70-$118,119.92Pay Grade: 11
