The Courtyard Grand Rapids Airport is currently looking for a top-performing Hotel Assistant General Manager. This position will also overlook the Sales Department. JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for supporting all aspects of the operation including guest and employee satisfaction, financial performance, and delivering a return on investment. Assists General Manager in leading the team in the development and implementation of property wide strategies.
Verifies the implementation of brand service strategies and brand initiatives. Builds relationships with key customers and is involved in the sales process. Extends professionalism and courtesy to guests and associates at all times. Assists the team in understanding guest ever changing needs and expectations, and how to exceed them.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Collaborate with the General Manager to guarantee all brand standards are met. Work with employees to ensure proper training and retention, emphasis on front desk and Bistro staff. Knowledge of hotel operations systems. Follow up in a timely manner relating to guest requests and concerns. Leads by example demonstrating self -confidence and enthusiasm. Assists and teaches team leaders best scheduling practices. Available to work any shifts including weekends. Able to oversee hotel operations during the absence of the General Manager.
JOB DUTIES
- Support the General Manager in managing staff and day-to-day operations
- Assist in developing and implementing strategies to maximize profitability
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate stock replenishment
- Conduct market research and analyze trends to make informed business decisions
- Participate in recruiting, interviewing, and training new employees
- Collaborate with the management team to enhance overall efficiency
- Handle administrative tasks as needed
REQUIRED SKILLS
- Strong leadership abilities with a focus on team development
- Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively
- Proficiency in management practices and procedures
- Ability to analyze financial data, including math skills for budgeting and forecasting
- Experience in conducting interviews and evaluating candidates
- Knowledge of stock management principles for inventory control
