The County of San Luis Obispo Behavioral Health Department is actively seeking associate and licensed clinicians to join our Youth Mental Health Services Division!Behavioral Health Clinicians provide a variety of professional mental health and substance use disorder assessment, diagnosis, therapy, counseling, education, and community outreach services to clients in the community, schools, clinics, jail, juvenile hall, and inpatient settings.
The current opportunities are in Atascadero,
San Luis Obispo, and Arroyo Grande.Outpatient Behavioral Health Clinicians typically carry a caseload of 20-25 clients, ages 3-20 years old, conduct individual, family, and group therapy; case management, collateral services, assessment, and crisis interventions. Clinicians in this role work with a treatment team, including psychiatrist, medication manager, and rehabilitation specialists, and collaborate with partner agencies such as Probation, Child Welfare Services, and schools.
Intensive Care Coordination Behavioral Health Clinicians typically carry a caseload of therapy clients (18-23) and case management-only clients (5-10). Clinicians in this role conduct individual, family, and group therapy, assessments, case management, collateral services, and crisis interventions. Clinicians work with a treatment team, including psychiatrist, medication manager, and rehabilitation specialists, and collaborate with partner agencies such as Probation, Child Welfare Services, and schools.

Minimum Qualifications
Unless noted otherwise, licensure/registration must be held at time of application and maintained throughout employment.
Behavioral Health Clinician I: Master's Degree in a counseling or related field, and proof of intern registration application with the Board of Behavioral Sciences, or Board of Psychology. Proof of active intern registration must be presented in order to complete the initial probationary period.
Behavioral Health Clinician II: Master's Degree in a counseling or related field, and proof of active intern registration with the Board of Behavioral Sciences, or Board of Psychology; and equivalent of one (1) year of full-time experience, post-Master's degree, in providing direct services to individuals and/or families.
Behavioral Health Clinician III: Current active and unrestricted California license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Marriage Family Therapist, Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor, or Psychologist, AND two (2) years of professional experience, post-licensure, in a related field.
