Join the Health and Human Services team as a Behavioral Health Coordinator!
This position provides direct oversight of the Comprehensive Community Services (CCS) program. The position reports directly to the Behavioral Health Manager and provides support over other Behavioral Health (BH) programs areas as assigned. The person in this role will be responsible for direct supervision of staff who facilitate and coordinate a wide range of individualized, client-centered, and trauma-informed interventions for individuals enrolled in the Comprehensive Community Services (CCS) and Coordinated Services Team (CST) programs, in accordance with Department of Health Services Administrative Rules and Statutes. This person also will assist the Behavioral Health Manager provide oversite of other program areas including quality assurance, productivity, compliance and service authorizations. This position is responsible for providing truthful and accurate written and verbal communications.

Essential Job Functions
  1. Provides direct supervision and consultation to CCS Case Managers.
  2. Trains new staff on all program aspects of the program from philosophical aspect of teaming to paperwork requirements.
  3. Approves all authorizations for services and conducts periodic quality assurance reviews. 
  4. Conducts periodic quality assurance reviews and productivity reports.
  5. Maintains records of supervision logs, peer reviews and other quality assurance tracking. 
  6. Works with entire BH team to develop annual goals, facilitate action steps, track progress and document/report outcomes.
  7. Coordinates team building activities, and assists staff in professional growth in all BH areas.
  8. Provide training on policies and procedures to new staff. 
  9. Advocates on behalf of consumers to ensure needs are met and client rights are protected, enhancing natural supports to the greatest extent possible.
  10. Conducts and/or participates in community awareness, education, resource development, and option exploration activities.
General Job Functions
  1. May act as initial contact to funnel consumers to the appropriate Behavioral Health services.
  2. Provides regular supportive contacts with consumers/families, service providers, team members and other community partners.
  3. If needed, prepares and maintains service plans and progress notes on all assigned consumers; completes all documentation as required by the Department of Health & Human Services, DHS Chapter 36, and WI Statute 46.56 which includes daily documentation of all face-to-face contact, and collateral contacts as well as updating assessments, service plans and safety plans every 6 months.
  4. Assists youth/families and/or adult consumers in obtaining all available resources (financial, social, remedial) to enable them to reach established goals and objectives.
  5. Participates in weekly team meetings to participate in clinical supervision and receive division program updates. 
  6. Completes Adult Mental Health/Substance Abuse Functional Screen Training to determine program eligibility as needed.
  7. Strictly follow federal and state laws and regulations, county and departmental policies and procedures in regard to privacy, security and confidentiality of individuals’ personal and health information.
Required Training and Experience
  1. Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, Special Education with a concentration in human development. Master’s Degree preferred.
  2. Possess a valid driver’s license and access to a reliable automobile.
  3. Required to complete training and pass Department of Health Services exams to become certified as a functional screener within three (3) months of hire.
Preferred Training and Experience
  1. Two (2) or more years demonstrated experience providing psychosocial rehabilitative services to individuals with mental health and substance use disorders in CCS or a related program.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required 
  1. Ability to conduct a comprehensive assessment, develop person-centered service plans and activities, and work creatively and independently.
  2. Ability to listen carefully, communicate respectfully and engage in conflict resolution and problem-solving.
  3. Ability to read, comprehend, and communicate both orally and in writing.
  4. Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations, compare invoices to authorizations and service notes, and resolve discrepancies.
  5. Ability to use tact and courtesy in maintaining effective working relationships with consumer families, department employees, county supervisors, county officials, and the general public.
  6. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in an organized, efficient manner.
