The Country Store provides a variety of products and services to farmers, homeowners, businesses, families and the communities in Washington State & Stevensville, MT.

The company is seeking an Inventory Control Specialist. Candidates should be committed to excellence with a high attention to detail and a strong ability to problem solve. They must be effective team players with strong communication skills and an ability to motivate the team. People skills, an analytical mind and attention to detail are all essential traits to reach success in this role. One who can see things that need to be done and figure out a way to do them effectively and efficiently.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Greet customers and promptly assessing their wants and needs. Advise customers on purchase options.
  • Accurately complete sales using point-of-sale system according to established procedures
  • Organize and effectively merchandise items for sale
  • Stock and provide general housekeeping in and around the store
  • Utilize customer-focused selling skills, add-on selling, closing skills, and other sales generating skills
  • Ensure compliance with all inventory control measures
  • Work with management to ensure all staff has required training and accountability in their inventory control responsibilities
  • Audit location inventory controls through physical inspection and verify accuracy through cycle count practices
  • Monitor all merchandise for correct location assignments, correct and clean bin labels, expired products, and stock rotation
  • Analyze inventory variance reports and recognize security risks and thefts
  • Work with management and other inventory control staff to minimize security risks and reduce inventory shrink
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment
  • Participate in monthly staff meeting and communicate information on inventory control topics
  • Exhibit an ability to get along with others
  • Practice punctual and reliable attendance
  • Perform other duties as assigned

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma (or equivalent)
  • Must pass pre-employment drug test as a condition of employment
  • Possess a valid driver license and maintain a safe driving record
  • Commitment to excellence and high standards
  • Proficiency operating and navigating Microsoft Windows operating system
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods; bend, stoop and kneel frequently
  • Lift, carry, push, pull and load up to 60 pounds
  • Proven track record of being dependable and reliable
  • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
  • Strong organizational, multi-tasking, problem-solving, and analytical skills with an emphasis on calculating figures and amounts

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience working in a retail setting
  • Product knowledge in one or more of the following areas: feed, seed, pet food & supplies, hardware, fencing, animal health, tack, clothing & footwear, lawn & garden or wild bird supplies
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel, Epicor or similar retail point-of-sale software
  • Experience using RF (radio frequency) scanning technology and equipment

SCHEDULE

This is a full time, 40 hours per week position (schedule will vary). Sunday through Saturday. Must be available to work evenings and/or weekends as needed.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

$15.00 - $18.00/hour. After meeting eligibility requirements, benefits include:
