Line Cook Position

The Country Club at Castle Pines is seeking members to join our culinary team. About The Club

The Country Club at Castle Pines is a private club that is perched at nearly 7,000 feet and boasts an exceptional Colorado country club lifestyle just minutes south of Denver. We are the premier private country club in the region located inside The Village at Castle Pines community. Our Signature Jack Nicklaus golf course weaves seamlessly into the Rocky Mountain landscape and provides members an unmatched golf experience, complete with our course, a 20-acre golf practice facility, and The Crags one acre putting course amidst incredible wildlife, rugged terrain, and breathtaking mountain views. The recent $25 million expansion project brings a stylish new dining and social features to the clubhouse, as well as cliff side amenities to include an infinity edge pool, fitness, and racket sports.

What you need to bring to our kitchen:

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a line cook in a commercial kitchen, leadership experience is preferred but not required.
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Knowledge of safety and sanitation
  • Understands modern cooking methods and techniques
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Eye for detail and organization
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Ability to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays if necessary

What you will be doing in our kitchen:

  • Preps assigned items to include but not limited to, washing raw food products,
  • peeling, dicing, shredding, cutting, and slicing food products
  • When prep is finished: properly label, date, rotate, and store all items properly
  • Prepare food items for members as requested, including special requests, in a
  • timely and consistent manner
  • Ensure ingredients and final products are fresh
  • Ensure leftover food is stored properly.
  • Test the temperature of foods at specified intervals.
  • Cleans, organizes, and maintains refrigerators, coolers, and dry storage
  • areas. Restocks items as needed.
  • Keep track of ingredient quantities and ensure there are always enough.
  • Understands and complies with food safety and temperature standards.
  • Properly measures ingredients and assembles them in accordance with the
  • chef’s specifications. Use a scale to ensure proper portioning of food items
  • Follow recipes, including measuring, weighing, and mixing ingredients
  • Bake, grill, steam and braise meats, vegetables, fish, poultry, and other foods
  • Present, garnish and arrange final dishes according to Chef’s specifications
  • Makes adjustments to food items to accommodate guests with allergies or
  • specific diet concerns
  • Adheres to safety and sanitary procedures set forth by management and the
  • health department
  • Prior to service, ensures items needed for shift are stocked and located at
  • designated station
  • Responsible for all facets of assigned station, i.e. hot food, cold food items,
  • dessert
  • Performs additional daily cleaning assignments, including stoves, ovens,
  • refrigerators, and storage areas
  • Sorts and rinses dirty dishes, glass, tableware, and other cooking utensils;
  • then placing them in racks to send through dish machine
  • Removes trash and takes garbage to dumpster
  • Sweeps/mops floors
  • Ability to perform objectives in a timely and efficient manner with a focus on
  • quality while always maintaining a positive and professional approach with
  • coworkers.

  • respect, positive energy, dependability, honesty, initiative, outgoing nature,
  • and a pleasant, professional appearance.
  • Support the club's vision and responsibility of being eco-conscious.
  • Wipes up any spills to ensure kitchen floors remain dry and clean
  • Completes other tasks/assignments as assigned
  • Note any out-of-stock items or possible shortages.

Physical Demands of the position:

  • Lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying: Position regularly involves lifting food cases
  • weighing up to 50 lbs. Items include food, small equipment.
  • Periodic climbing required.
  • Bending of the knees does become necessary when using the lower oven for
  • cooking.
  • Mobility - full range of mobility and the ability to travel 30-50 feet on a regular basis
  • throughout the day.
  • Continuous standing - during preparation, during service hours or during expediting,
  • usually all day.
  • Must be able to hear equipment timers and communicate with other staff.
  • Must be able to see that product is prepared appropriately.
  • Must be able to understand and follow verbal/written instructions and communicate
  • both verbally and in writing.
