Position Title: Parks Crew
Position Characteristics: Seasonal, part-time, no benefits.
Weekdays, evenings, Saturdays, Sundays, holidays.

Position Reports To: Parks Supervisor
Positions Directly Supervised: None
Position Purpose:
Responsible for maintaining Service Area parks and ground efficiently so as to provide a clean, safe, and comfortable atmosphere for patrons. Complete refurbishing and cleaning duties as assigned by Park Supervisor, performs regularly turf care, completes daily maintenance of all courts and athletic fields.
Nature and Scope:
This position requires attention to detail, good physical health and strength, and the ability to work well independently. Incumbent must be able to operate all related equipment and machinery and possess good time management skills in order to successfully execute this position.
Essential Functions and Basic Duties:
Assume responsibility for effectively and efficiently maintaining Service Area grounds and parks.
Assume responsibility for establishing and maintaining effective working relations with area personnel and with management.
Assume responsibility for other duties as assigned.

Physical Activities and Requirements of this Position:
Climbing: Including ladders, scaffolding, ramps, poles, etc. Amount and type of climbing is more than that needed for ordinary movement.
Balancing: May involve walking, standing, crouching on narrow, slippery or moving surfaces.
Stooping: Bending downward and forward at the waist. Requires full use of lower extremities and back muscles.
Kneeling: Resting on knee or knees.
Crouching: Bending downward and forward at the leg and spine.
Reaching: Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.
Standing: For extended time periods.
Walking: Especially for short distances.
Pushing: Using upper body to draw, drag, haul, or tug objects.
Pulling: Using upper body to draw, drag, haul, or tug objects.
Lifting: Occurs frequently and requires substantial use of upper body and back muscles.
Finger Dexterity: Pinching, typing, etc., primarily with fingers only.
Talking: Especially when one must frequently convey detailed or important instructions or ideas accurately, loudly, or quickly.
Grasping: Using fingers and palm on an object.
Hearing: Able to hear average or normal conversations and receive ordinary information.
Seeing: Average, ordinary, vision acuity necessary to prepare or inspect documents or products, or operate machinery.
Physical Strength: Very heavy work, exert more than 100 lbs. of force occasionally and/or more than 50 lbs. frequently, and/or more than 20 lbs. regularly.

General Education-Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed, involved instructions and to deal with problems involving several concrete variables.
General Education-Mathematics Ability: Ability to perform very basic math skills including adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing two digit numbers; to perform the four basic arithmetic operations with coins as part of a dollar; to perform operations with units such as inch, foot, and yard; ounce and pound (or their metric counterparts).
General Education-Language Ability: Ability to recognize the meaning of 2,500 (2 and 3 syllable) words; to read (by sight or Braille) at a very slow rate; to compare similarities and difference between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and communicate in simple sentences.
