Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive People Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in coordinating and supporting various HR initiatives. The ideal candidate should possess strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for fostering a positive work environment. This role will involve collaboration with various teams and stakeholders to achieve our organizational goals.

***Please note that this position is only available IN-PERSON at our Rapidan, VA office***

Responsibilities

  • Lead the recruitment and onboarding process for operational team members to ensure a great candidate/new team member experience.
  • Deliver the new hire orientations including overview of HR, Benefits and Safety overview.
  • Maintain and update recruitment log.
  • Liaison between the operating unit and payroll to ensure accurate time records and payroll processing.
  • Assist in the oversight of the H2A program to include coding and reviewing weekly bills from FLC, housing inspections, compliance reviews, etc.
  • Conduct annual employee engagement survey process of operational team members including conducting the sessions, uploading the results and analyzing the results.
  • Provide customer service to all employees and potential candidates by answering requests and questions.
  • Update HRIS database records and process paperwork for new hires, terminations and other status changes in a timely manner according to the set procedures.
  • Process terminations and termination payments accurately and timely.
  • Research, troubleshoot, and resolve HRIS issues.
  • Provide managers/supervisors reports as required.
  • Maintains client confidence and protect operations by keeping all information confidential.
  • Maintain and upload training records.
  • Create employee communications including emails, flyers, updates people’s TV and other.
  • Assist in the completion and processing of Accident Reports.
  • Process terminations and termination payments accurately and timely.
  • Research, troubleshoot, and resolve HRIS issues.
  • Provide managers/supervisors reports as required.
  • Maintain Costa Bucks program.
  • Plan and execute monthly employee engagement activities i.e., bingo, birthday treats etc.
  • Assist in coordinating company events, lunches and employee meetings.
  • Complies with all internal controls policies related to payroll, benefits and employee data.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as requested.

 Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent
    2-4 years administrative experience, employee data systems plus
    • Strong problem-solving skills, including being able to identify issues and resolve programs in a timely manner
    • Strong interpersonal skills
    • Able to communicate clearly, both written and orally, as to communicate with employees, members of the HR management team, and in group presentations and meetings
    • Must be able to prioritize and plan work activities as to use time efficiently
    • Must be organized, accurate, thorough, and able to monitor work for quality
    • Must be dependable, able to follow instructions, respond to management direction, and must be able to improve performance through management feedback
    • Advanced computer skills; proficient MS Office
    • Excellent time management skills
    • Ability to work independently
  • Bilingual Spanish/English a plus.
