Position Overview
The Corporate Financial Reporting Manager position within Core Spaces embraces ambition and innovation to serve the Core Spaces Corporate entities. This role is a key contributor of the corporate accounting and financial reporting team and has significant interaction with other teams within accounting, FP&A and Tax. A successful candidate will be a hands-on professional with a strong understanding of the application of U.S. GAAP and have proficiency in documenting technical accounting positions. A control and process-oriented mindset, strong analytical and problem solving skills, and desire and ability to identify, recommend and lead improvements is also important for success in this role. This role is also involved in the monthly consolidation process.
What You Will Do:
- Manage and oversee the monthly accounting close calendar and corporate consolidation process, ensuring appropriate coordination with all accounting teams to meet reporting deadline
- Lead the preparation and review of financial statement and other reports for senior management, ensuring adherence to GAAP
- Lead the preparation of MoM and QoQ variance explanations
- Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting activities, including reviewing journal entries and account reconciliations, selected general ledger account detailed analysis
- Perform monthly inter-company reconciliation, profit elimination, and consolidation
- Collaborate with property/development accounting teams on a regular basis to ensure intercompany transactions are properly accounted for
- Work closely with FP&A researching monthly variances from budget and create presentation for leadership on results
- Lead the preparation of the quarterly reporting packages, including covenant calculations, for lender purposes
- Responsible for management reports for specific business units. Works with business unit stakeholders to meet accounting and financial reporting needs
- Lead the annual external audit process and respond to investor/lender inquiries pertaining to the monthly/quarterly reporting package
- Prepares the statement of cash flows on a quarterly basis and liaises with FP&A and Treasury for cash flow analysis
- Develop and update reconciliations for all investor level contributions and distributions
- Stay updated with evolving accounting standards and regulations. Develop and implements accounting policies and procedures and ensure those policies are communicated to team members
- Develop, maintain, and ensure compliance with internal controls related to reporting processes. Focus on continuous improvement of processes and procedures
- Lead Yardi system and process improvements
- Mentors and develops corporate accounting team members
- Participate in other ad hoc projects as needed and support key stakeholders, including Chief Financial Officer, Chief Accounting Officer, FP&A, Legal, and Tax.
- Occasional travel may be necessary as needed

Ideally, you'll have:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, CPA designation preferred.
- 8 years of related experience
- Public accounting and real estate industry experience
- Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills combined with the ability to communicate the results of the work product
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
- Ability to multi-task and manage shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
- Comfortable working in an open, team-oriented environment
- Experience with various accounting technology platforms

- Experience with enterprise valuation and real estate models
