JOB TITLE: Technology Specialist
DESCRIPTION OF BASIC RESPONSIBILITIES

Under the direction of the IT Manager/Designee will perform a variety of tech and computer-related duties to assist in the School-wide technology operation. This includes supporting staff and students with information technology needs, school device setup, maintenance and repair.

SUPERVISOR: IT Manager/designee

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Assist in supporting and managing the School’s devices.
2. Manage and resolve ticket system requests.
3. Oversee Mobile Device Management - hot spots, iPads, etc. for staff and students.
4. Configure staff and student school devices, and ensure proper documentation is provided.
5. Assist staff with technical needs when moving offices and classrooms, including Apple

TVs, phones, and wire management.
6. Ensure School’s phone system maintains a supported software version.
7. Oversee testing of devices, accessories, WiFi connections, systems logins, and phones.
8. Provides technical advice, assistance, and instruction for installation of applications.
9. Provides assistance to assigned instructional leaders when software problems exceed their expertise.
10.Research software problems to determine causes and the means to correct errors.
11. Post updates to school website via automated forms as assigned.
12. Informs users of changes and modifications to software packages.

13.Periodically reviews software for copyright compliance.
14.Assist with preparation of annual reports, including whole school and student subgroup data charts, to the funding agent.
15.Maintains current knowledge of technology advances, recommends and researches special projects as assigned.
16.Performs other duties related to the above as required.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Knowledge of:
- Software applications
- Macintosh operating systems
- Advanced knowledgeGoogle Apps, Adobe Suite, and Student Information Systems
- Planning and organization of the computer services of the school

- Applicable laws, codes, regulations, policies and procedures

Ability to:
- Serve as a resource person and provide assistance in training and use of software packages to both staff and families;
- Analyze, install, and maintain technical and complex programs;
- Quickly learn the ins and outs of computer programs and disseminate knowledge;
- Understand tables, databases, charts and how information interrelates
- Plan, organize and administer the computer services of the school;
- Maintain current knowledge of technological advances in the field;
- Analyze situations accurately and adopt an effective course of action;
- Meet schedules and timelines;
- Plan and organize, work independently with minimum direction;
- Communicate effectively in both oral and written forms;
- Meet and maintain the physical requirements necessary to perform assigned job functions in a safe and effective manner;
- Establish and maintain effective work relationships with those contacted in the performance of required duties.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND REQUIREMENTS

- Degree from an accredited institution is desired, and advanced course work is desired but not essential;

- Experience working in an IT position; 3-5 year preferred

- TB test clearance;
- Criminal justice fingerprint processing.

Experience should include:
- Software implementation and support
- Online learning systems
- Google Apps administration
- Student Information System and/or extensive database support

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
