Cordia Resources by Cherry Bekaert is Hiring an Accounting Administrator 16333024 Near Gaithersburg, MD

SUMMARY:
Exciting opportunity to join a well-established and growing organization! This role will provide experience with full cycle accounting, with a focus on operational and project accounting. The Accounting Administrator will be responsible for the accounting of multiple construction jobs.RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Assist with managing all project related finance and accounting duties, including AR, AP, and treasury/cash management, and project cost reporting
  • Process accounts receivables, including preparation of AIA applications and monthly draw requests to project’s funding source and subsequent monitoring of timely collection
  • Assist with preparing monthly financial packages
  • Assist with managing the projects budgets
  • Assist with Managing the company’s risk. Ensure that policies are followed, including audit of insurance certificates, payment, and performance bonds, executed lien releases, executed subcontracts, and change orders
  • Assist with managing the projects’ cash flow. Ensure that company is paid accurately and timely. Ensure that vendors are paid accurately and timely
  • Process accounts payables, including data entry of subcontractor requisitions and subsequent timely payment to subcontractors
  • Be proactive. Communicate effectively with vendors and subcontractors, keeping them informed of paperwork requirements and payment status
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • 2 years of construction and/or government contracting accounting experience
  • Construction based accounting software experience, Foundation and/or QuickBooks ideal
  • Experience in AP, AR, and supporting monthly close
  • Experience in MS Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Flexible, willing, team player attitude
  • Detail oriented
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task
