Corcept Therapeutics is Hiring a Remote Vice President, Oncology National Sales

As a key member of our Oncology Commercial Leadership the Vice President of Sales, Oncology will play a critical role in shaping the launch strategy and execution plans for relacorilant’s entry to the commercial market.

This leadership position holds significant importance as it spearheads the establishment of Corcept’s sales capabilities in oncology. Key responsibilities include actively contributing to the development of an executable brand strategy, recruiting top-tier sales leaders from the industry, and overseeing the recruitment, training, development, retention, and leadership of a sales team recognized for their commitment to embrace possibility, follow the data and work every day to drive the field of cortisol modulation forward. This position requires a dynamic leader with extensive experience in pharmaceutical sales, a deep understanding of the oncology market landscape, and a proven track record of achieving sales targets in highly competitive environments. This position reports to the President, Oncology and can be located at our headquarters in Menlo Park, CA or work remotely from a location within the U.S.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintains an unshakeable commitment to integrity in all aspects of his/her leadership
  • Work with Human Resources and Talent acquisition to lead the recruitment, training, development, and retention of top-tier talent
  • Cultivate a ‘high trust’ culture that inspires excellence, puts people first, entrepreneurialism and that works together to bring out the best in individuals with a truly unwavering commitment to patients
  • Collaborate with cross-functional leaders and teams to develop comprehensive brand and sales strategies aligned with the company's goals and objectives. Lead the execution of these strategies to drive revenue growth and market share within the oncology segment
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, market dynamics, and competitor activities within the oncology space. Leverage market insights to identify opportunities for growth, anticipate challenges, and adapt sales strategies accordingly
  • Lead the development and execution of launch plans to ensure a successful market introduction and rapid adoption of new products
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including healthcare providers, key opinion leaders, oncology specialists, and strategic partners. Collaborate closely with marketing, and market access teams to maximize brand visibility and market penetration, ensuring alignment between strategy and execution
  • Hold accountability for brand performance, ensuring the achievement of launch goals and long-term performance targets

Preferred Skills, Qualifications and Technical Proficiencies:

  • Proven experience in successfully launching key products/brands in the oncology field
  • Significant leadership experience in the pharmaceutical or life sciences industry, particularly in sales and marketing
  • Track record of building and leading high-performing teams
  • Inspirational leadership style with the ability to motivate and encourage accountability
  • Thorough understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements
  • Ability to lead and facilitate organizational change with an innovative mindset

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree plus 15 years of commercial experience in pharmaceuticals
  • MBA or other relevant post-graduate degree preferred
  • Extensive understanding and experience in both clinical aspects and the business of oncology, with a focus on gyne/onc
  • In-depth understanding of U.S. payer and market access dynamics

The pay range that the Company reasonably expects to pay for this position is $350,000 - $400,000; the pay ultimately offered may vary based on legitimate considerations, including geographic location, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and education.
