Learning Specialist Grades 9-12
Provide students who experience complex and multiple disabilities functional academic individualized instruction on a daily basis. Also provide some small group instruction within a push in model (full inclusion model with minimal pull out). Background and or experience working with secondary students who experience challenges in the areas of functional academics, sensory, basic living skills, and communication. Collaborates with general education teachers and related service providers such as OT, PT, Speech, and Assistive Technology. Write and facilitate IEP and placement meetings. Writes and implements Functional Behavior Assessments, Supported Behavior Plans, and Motor Plans. Attend and participate in other intervention or Social Emotional meetings when needed.
Provide instructional plans for educational assistants assigned to special education students. Monitor student progress at regular intervals. Provide specialized support for students who may have special health needs (e.g. diapering, following feeding protocols, and seizure protocols) or for those who may be impacted by challenging behaviors.
Applicant must hold a valid Oregon K-12 teaching license with a special education endorsement, ASD Certificate/ADOS preferred.
Four day student contact school week with some Fridays per the District approved Corbett School calendar
