About the Job: Join our team as a Barista for the Coral Casino Beach & Cabana Club! The Club, located at Butterfly Beach in Santa Barbara, is one of the most elite social clubs in the world. General Purpose: Presents an optimistic and unforgettably positive impression to our Members and Guests, exuding the genuine warmth of the Club by serving welcoming and efficient hospitality and providing a seamless dining experience at our restaurant/café.

The host is the very first and last impression the guest gets of the restaurant. Beyond greeting, the host is responsible for taking reservations and managing the books. This is one of the most important jobs in the restaurant as they are in control of the flow of the service.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

¨ Exhibits sincere hospitality. Puts member satisfaction above all else. Has a problem-solving mindset when dealing with difficult situations.

¨ Remains attentive, friendly, helpful, and courteous to guests, managers, and fellow employees.

¨ Reports to work and clocks in/out for scheduled shifts and meal and rest breaks on time and in complete and proper uniform.

¨ Has complete knowledge of all standards, procedures, and products.

¨ Greets guests promptly as they enter the restaurant, using member recognition and name usage whenever possible. Creates a positive, warm impression when members enter the restaurant, greeting with a smile, making eye contact.

¨ Answers phones, keeps accurate count of reservations, and manages the restaurant flow.

¨ Is completely confident and aware of changing floor plans and server sections. Seats the restaurant in a fair manner, rotating server sections, while balancing member preference at the same time.

¨ Ensures the floor plan on the table management system is fully up to date, monitoring which tables are in use, available, and about to turn. Checks for completeness of table settings and overall ambiance of the restaurant, including table spacing, lighting, shade, and warmth.

¨ Maintains a neat and orderly host stand and area. Ensures menus are available, clean and presentable. Ensures that menus have the proper, up to date menu inserts according to the most recent changes. Constantly ensures the entrance to the restaurant is clean.

¨ Communicates the needs of members to management. Informs management of any member feedback.

¨ Prints menus to ensure stocks are to par. Prints menus for special events and parties well ahead of reservation or event time.

¨ Complies with all food and beverage regulations.

¨ Adhere to guidelines and policies outlined in the employee handbook.

¨ Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

¨ High level of professionalism and attention to detail

¨ Excellent verbal communication and organizational skills

¨ Comfortable working with a team in a fast-paced environment

¨ Problem solving, reasoning, and “thinking out of the box”; ability to apply common sense understanding to better serve our internal and external guests’ needs

¨ Ability to handle guest complaints and resolve them to satisfactory results

¨ Ability to remain attentive, friendly, helpful and courteous to managers and fellow employees

¨ Ability to read, comprehend, and follow all Club policies, systems, controls and procedures

¨ Ability to read and comprehend the Employee Handbook

¨ Ability to maintain personal grooming in compliance with appearance standards

¨ Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, days, weekends, and holidays

¨ Possess basic math skills and have the ability to handle money

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION

¨ High school diploma or equivalent preferred

¨ Possess Food Handlers/Serve Safe certificate and Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) training certificate as required by law

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

¨ Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time, at least eight hours

¨ Ability to walk, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crawl, crouch, bend, stretch, twist, and reach

¨ Ability to push, pull, carry, and lift at least 40 pounds on a regular basis
