SUMMARY OF JOB:

The Education Director provides strategic leadership and management to ensure service quality to clients/students and schools across multiple systems and contracts. This role works in close partnership with the Vice President, Program Operations Director and Education Supervisors to ensure contract compliance and promote high quality service delivery.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Uphold the mission, vision, and values of CORA Services, which includes valuing all individuals, supporting the individual’s potential for growth, and enhancing a pragmatic service system approach.
  • Continue to hone CORA’s model of service delivery to strive to achieve gold standard quality and ensure that service delivery standards remain high in accordance with field best practice; contract expectations; and agency goals, mission, values and philosophy.
  • Lead, supervise and empower Education Supervisors in their day-to-day management of direct service staff.
  • Consult with Supervisors on school administrative, faculty or parent issues; personnel concerns; and complex cases.
  • Establish management practices that support positive relationships and promote a high level of staff morale, motivation and collaboration; nurture sharing of best practices within the department.
  • Develop and communicate departmental policies and procedures aligned with field best practice, contract requirements and agency expectations.
  • Determine staffing assignments, monitor caseloads and confirm staffing levels are appropriate; coordinate changes with Program Operations Director.
  • Partner with Human Resources and Education Supervisors to hire, onboard and train qualified staff and contractors.
  • Work with the Program Operations Director in the development of program orientations and trainings.
  • Oversee staff development programming including working with the professional development committee to expand professional development opportunities for direct service staff.
  • Establish positive relationships with school contacts.
  • Work with other department/division leaders to ensure smooth delivery of services to children who receive multi-disciplined services.
  • Establish strategic partnerships with local universities to strengthen service delivery and to develop opportunities for field study placements including internships, fellowships, and practicums as is relevant in the field.
  • Partner with Vice President, School Services, to pursue opportunities to launch, expand and strengthen program offerings.
  • Remain current on existing and emerging laws, regulations and guidelines affecting services.
  • Collect and be knowledgeable of data, trends and best practices in the field; identify opportunities to incorporate best practices to continuously improve service delivery.
  • Participate in the design, implementation and utilization of data management systems; champion the use of data to drive programmatic, process and system improvement.
  • Participate in all necessary interdisciplinary functions and meetings.
  • Adhere to training/licensure requirements established by Agency or other regulatory entities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Vice President of School Services, as needed.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Master’s degree in Education required

EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:

  • 7 years of experience working in field
  • 2 years of supervisory experience
  • Solid understanding of discipline
  • Strong interpersonal and oral and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of best practices related to services
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
  • Strong clinical/educational experience and knowledge
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office, as well as database systems
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff at all levels of the agency, as well as representatives from funding sources, relevant regulatory bodies, other agencies and community groups.
