Ocean Spray Cranberries, Inc. is currently looking to hire a Sr. FSQA Manager to lead the Global Contract Manufacturers network in Food Safety and Quality Assurance (“FSQA”). The incumbent will lead, maintain, and continuously improve FSQA programs across our external network of contract manufacturer partners globally. Position Location: This is a remote position with 25-35% travel required. Principal Duties and Responsibilities: Lead a high performing team in charge of Food Safety and Quality for external contract manufacturing organization. Develops, coaches and mentors direct staff including setting individual and team goals and conducting performance reviews. Develops technical rapport with external contract manufacturing quality leadership partners through verbal and written communication during audits, trials, commissioning’s and/or health check visits. Support and guides team members on routine FSQA activities such as consumer/customer complaints; lot and code tracing; holds management and disposition; incidents/investigations and others. Able to utilize and critically evaluate data from a variety of sources to identify root cause and lead teams towards resolution. Develop and deploy Global FSQA strategy, programs, and roadmaps for external contract manufacturing partners to track FSQA performance, manage risk and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as global regulations (e.g., FDA, CFIA, ISO, etc.) and third-party auditing schemes. Ensure that OSC audit program covers Global FSQA Standards and requirements. Accountable that audit schedule is executed as planned and activities include the development of an audit plan, preparation of audit reports, communication of findings, audit responses, effective closure of audit non-conformances, and compliance/risk assessment. Oversee the execution of a strong CAPA (Corrective Action / Preventive Action) program for external contract manufacturing partners that drives site improvement. Monitor and report on FSQA performance metrics of external contract manufacturing partners. Responsible for FSQA technical documents including the development and/or technical review of related Food Safety and Quality policies, procedures, standards, instructions, forms, and reports/records to ensure consistency across FSQA external contract manufacturing organization. Provide FSQA input on technical change processes and recommends approach to ensure reliable data is generated to drive decision and continuous improvement. Maintains strong working relationship with cross functional team members internally and externally. Ensures the integrity and continued operations of the food safety system in the event of organizational or personnel changes within the company or assigned external partners. Establish strong relationships within the Procurement and Contract Manufacturing departments to assure we are driving the voice of quality into these respective systems and processes. Participate in and lead continuous improvement projects within FSQA Team. Participation in industry forums that include suppliers, processors, customers, and consumers. Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Requirements: Bachelor’s degree is required in food sciences, microbiology, chemistry, or related discipline. Master's degree preferred. 8 years of experience working in Food Safety and Quality Assurance and related areas across multiple global manufacturing locations. Experienced and demonstrated ability to manage remote teams in multiple time zones. Excellent collaborative and problem-solving skills. A strong, broad technical background with expertise in the areas of, Quality Systems, Process Control and Auditing Protocols. Operational Quality experience preferred. Significant experience Shaping Strategy and Global Perspective. Driving Execution and strong ability to influence individuals, both upwards and downwards in organization. Adept at Building Organizational Relationships Practical knowledge of FSMA, FDA, CFIA regulations. HACCP Certified. SQF Practitioner and PCQI certification are a must. Knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC) preferred. Advanced PC skills: Windows, Excel, PowerPoint. Annual Salary: $112,400 - $154,600 The base salary range information above serves as a guideline of the position’s typical hiring range.
