The City of Coppell seeks a Director of Enterprise Solutions, who leads with an emphasis on relationship-building and serves as a strong resource and partner to the leadership team and external community stakeholders. While working knowledge of IT and business processes are necessary, our ideal candidate's background blends technical proficiency with a team-oriented mindset. 
Join us in shaping the future of Coppell, through the domains of information technology, business processes, and enterprise systems/solutions. Key responsibilities encompass directing initiatives, promoting innovation, and facilitating communication to bridge knowledge gaps. Tasked with crafting and implementing strategic plans, employing change management techniques, and cultivating collaborative environments.

Pay Plan
This opportunity is exempt and on Pay Grade #28. 
Salary determination is supported by budget availability and qualifications of the candidate to maintain internal equity. 

Min $117,934.75 ($56.70)

Mid $162,736.29 ($78.24)

Max $207,565.16 ($99.79)

  • Bachelor's Degree in information technology, public administration, business administration, business management, or a closely related field. 
    • A Master’s degree in a related field is strongly desired.
  • 7 Years of progressive experience in information technology management or a closely related field.
  • 3 Years as a leader of people.
  • Demonstrated record of continuing education and training.
  • Valid Texas Driver’s license, and a good driving record.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
  • Thorough working knowledge related to all aspects of business processes, information technology, business management, customer service, public speaking, and relationship-building.
  • Working knowledge of personal and organizational leadership and understanding how to develop an effective team.
  • Very familiar and comfortable with developing and presenting effective strategies and tactics to mitigate problems involving any activity of the City.
  • Familiar with managing budgets and project management.
  • Ability to frequently contact with City residents, elected officials, and all members of the organization 
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate using the English language, use independent judgment on work priorities, and identify and correct administrative problems while meeting deadlines and providing accurate service.
  • Ability to read and comprehend complex materials, such as City ordinances, as well as state and federal legislation and statutes.
  • Ability to work closely with others as part of a team to ensure the efficient operation of all City departments and the delivery of various City services through effective relationship-building. 
  • Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, and approaches to problems.
  • Performs multiple tasks simultaneously and must maintain composure and critical decision-making skills in high-stress/emergencies. 
  • Must understand and operate personal computer hardware, software, and related office equipment.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and be able to work long hours without rest.
  • Must also possess the ability to perform routine office tasks, manipulate and prepare documents, files, and related administrative information, and the ability to effectively communicate with any audience, including city officials, city employees, other public sector and professional organizations, and the general public.
About the Enterprise Solutions Department

It is the mission of the Enterprise Solutions Department to provide and maintain all types of enterprise-related products for the governing body of the City of Coppell. These facilities include, but are not limited to voice, data, and video systems and the information maintained within those systems. In addition, this department coordinates the overall direction of technology and communications as desires and needs arise from other departments or divisions and Directional Boards, Commissions, or Committees.
