Coperion is Hiring a Remote Technical Service Manager - Field Service

Coperion is looking for a Technical Service Manager, Field Service to join our team in Pitman, NJ. As a Technical Service Manager, Field Service you will be responsible for supervision and performance control of mechanical and electrical field reps and start-up specialists, scheduling of personnel assignments for Field Service Department, service forecasting, and manpower planning. This position will have supervisory responsibilities of approx. 10-12 field service employees.

What you’ll do:

  • Establishes, periodically reviews, and assures compliance with personnel job descriptions.
  • Coordinates and schedules Mechanical, Electrical and Start-up service with customer.
  • Assures qualified manning of assignments by proposing and implementing specific training programs.
  • Assures compliance of service personnel with customers’ regulations and standards.
  • Distributes all new, technical information within service department, issues specific assignments, assures associated travel arrangements, and monitors status of all open projects and quotes for the Service group.
  • Prepares assignments and assembles information packages for field personnel.
  • Ensures availability at customer site of special tools, fixtures, and instruments as required for installation and maintenance work.
  • Ensures maintenance and upgrading of tools, fixtures, and instruments for the department.
  • Ensures timely distribution of trip reports to appropriate Coperion and KWPS departments, and Coperion customers, if required.
  • Assures proper routing of customer inquiries within Coperion.
  • Establishes forecasts for budget purposes and manpower planning.
  • Provides technical assistance to customers and issues maintenance recommendations to customers.
  • Makes periodic field trips to generate and maintain good customer relationships, help solve specific, critical problems at a site, control field work from a technical and personnel viewpoint, or to update technical knowledge about Coperion equipment and practices.
  • Provides technical presentations for maintenance and operation at customers’ sites or at conferences.
  • Develops strategies to regain lost market share.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Basic Requirements:

  • Education: Minimum of High School Diploma/GED equivalent required, Vocational/Technical degree or Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Technical training in electrical and machine technology preferred
  • 3 years of customer and field service experience
  • 3 years of supervisory or leadership experience
  • 5 years of mechanical & electrical maintenance
  • Must be willing/able to travel 25-30% of the time

Great to Haves:

  • Ability to train/manage/lead the Field Service Staff
  • Microsoft Office skills, with advanced Excel and Power Point skills
  • Excellent communication, planning, scheduling and project management skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; must be detailed-oriented
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, juggle multiple schedules and deadlines at one time and be able to work in a fast-paced environment
