COPE Community Services is Hiring a Reentry Service Specialist Near Tucson, AZ

The Reentry Service Specialist serves as a key link between the individual involved in the criminal justice system and treatment services and aids with reintegration to the community after incarceration. The Reentry Service Specialist is responsible for identifying and assisting individuals who have been incarcerated and/or criminal justice involvement, and to help them connect to treatment services in the community, including the assessment and service planning processes while acting as a liaison between Pima County Jail, Pretrial Services and Adult Probation. The Reentry Service Specialist provides or coordinates any services necessary to assist with establishing care, bettering treatment outcomes, and reducing recidivism (e.g., case management, outreach, crisis intervention, all medical care and counseling) to address individual treatment needs.

MINIMUM EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors or master’s degree, no experience necessary.
  • Associate degree plus two (2) years behavioral health work experience.
  • High School Diploma or GED plus Peer Support Specialist certification plus three (3) years of behavioral health work experience.
  • High School Diploma or GED plus Medical Assistant certification plus three (3) years of behavioral health work experience.
  • High School Diploma or GED plus four (4) years of behavioral health work experience.

PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in the Behavioral Health (BH)* related field.

Important Notes:

Must be 21 years of age (automobile insurance requirement) and possess a valid AZ driver’s license with a “clean” or “acceptable” driving record. An unacceptable driving record includes (but is not limited to) the following:

  • more than two [2] moving violations in the last three [3] years or;
  • more than one [1] at-fault accident within the last three [3] years or;
  • any major violation (i.e. DUI, Careless/Reckless Driving, Drag Racing, Hit and Run) within the last three [3] years.

Other driving related violations may be considered unacceptable. At time of job offer, submission of 36 month (three year) driving record from DMV will be required. These standards must be maintained throughout employment and up-to-date driving records are reviewed regularly for current employees.

Applicants must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
