Cooper's Hawk Winery & Restaurants is Hiring an Assistant General Manager Near Brook, IL

SUMMARY

Coaches, develops and inspires Managers, Managers in Development and team members to uphold excellent standards on food and service. Responsible for overall restaurant operations including day to day shift execution, ensuring food quality and exceptional guest experience. Partners closely with the General Manager to lead Managers and team members. Builds and maintains wine club community. Sets and achieves personal developmental goals. Focuses on driving operational excellence, growth and developing managers and acts as a Piccolo Buco brand ambassador.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversees overall restaurant operations and complex departments including Wine Tasting and Retail area.
  • Adheres to policies and manages assigned operating systems
  • Ensures collaboration between kitchen and front of house operations
  • Represents company values and creates a respectful, positive and professional work environment
  • Manages people:
    • Participates in hourly team member hiring
    • Trains and verifies team members understanding of Piccolo Buco
    • Reviews and approves front of house department schedules in a timely manner
    • Develops other managers including Restaurant and Kitchen Managers and Senior Managers
  • Responsible for overseeing training for Managers in Development, Lead Restaurant Trainers and new team members
  • Focus on service & food standards and assists Executive Kitchen Manager with weekly inventory procedures when needed
  • Responsible for maximizing financial and operational results and weekly financial reporting and inventory audits with General Manager oversight
  • Builds and maintains wine club community
  • Effectively operates computer systems and utilizes technology
  • Maintains safe, secure and healthy work environment and food safety

IDEAL CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3-4 years of supervisory experience in high volume, full-service restaurant. Scratch kitchen experience preferred.
  • A minimum age requirement of 21 years.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to read, understand and communicate in English
  • Demonstrates financial acumen
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word)
  • Preferred certifications include ServSafe and state/local licensing requirements
  • Preferred prior role of Senior Restaurant Manager for 6 months or more.
