Job Description

This position performs customer support activities involving installing, modifying, and repairing complex security equipment and systems. Conducts on-site installation and testing of equipment to ensure proper working order. Isolates equipment start-up malfunctions and takes corrective action. Represents the company in a customer support role and is responsible for the customer's satisfaction with equipment and servicing. Receives assignments in the form of objectives and establishes goals to meet objectives. Work is reviewed and measured based on meeting objectives and schedules. Establishes and recommends changes to policies that affect subordinate organization(s).

Job Responsibilities:
Provide process-driven technical services including:

  • On-site diagnosis of problems or Non-technical fixes
  • Troubleshoot and repair system failures
  • Schedule system cleanings and Preventive maintenance
  • Prioritization and planning as well as System assessments
  • Interface with cloud-based service system
  • Updatw online tickets in a timely fashion
  • Contact customer with the estimated time of arrival
  • Escalation of problems when appropriate
  • Interface with service management and procurement for needed parts
  • Accurately report service data
  • Perform service on all installed electronic security system products:

~ Intrusion detection systems and equipment
~ CCTV systems and equipment
~ IP video systems and equipment
~ Access control systems and equipment
~ Network based systems

  • Provide on-site and remote customer support
  • Interact in a professional manner with customers to foster positive customer relations
  • Maintain effective communication with Support Services Team
  • Communicate serious problems to appropriate team members
  • Develop working knowledge of all operating standards, practices, and procedures
  • Complete equipment cleanings as specified by service contracts
  • Organize and manage truck stock parts and tools
  • Support special projects as needed

Qualifications

Job Skills Requirements:

  • Exceptional telephone and personal customer service skills and ability to work under pressure
  • Excellent Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and PDF skills
  • Basic Troubleshooting skills in Intrusion detection systems and equipment, CCTV systems and equipment, IP video systems and equipment, Access control systems (ACS) and equipment, and Network cameras. Essential Skills in Networking, circuitry, relays, reading wiring diagrams, and using a digital multimeter tester.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and direction in a dynamic work environment
  • Shows initiative – regularly engages in proactive behavior and looks for opportunities

Education Requirements:

  • HS Diploma

Experience Requirements:

  • Troubleshooting skills in Intrusion detection systems and equipment, CCTV systems and equipment, IP video systems and equipment, Access control systems (ACS) and equipment, and Network cameras. Essential Skills in Networking, circuitry, relays, reading wiring diagrams, and using a digital multimeter tester.

Experience Preferred:

  • Lenel, Software House (CCURE 9000), Hirsh, Bosch VMS, Bosch IDS, DMP, Honeywell Vindicator (Vindicator Intrusion Detection / Vindicator Command & Control / Vindicator Access Control), American Dynamics/Victor Unified Video, Aiphone (Intercoms), Axis (Intercoms).
  • Vocational or specialized training beyond high school in Electronics or Electrical Engineering Technology (VAR certifications acceptable) is preferred.

Additional Information

Protective Clothing Required:
PPE gear when required
All regulations and standards set by OSHA must be followed at all times.

Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the colleague is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, talk, handle, or touch objects or controls and work with hand tools and power equipment. The colleague may be required to climb and work in high places, stoop, bend, or reach above the shoulders. The colleague may lift, push, or pull up to 60 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment:
Your work assignments will be wherever the projects and task orders are, mainly in the Washington, Baltimore, and Dulles Virginia areas. Travel is occasionally required and primarily within CONUS (Continental United States). However, there will be times when you may be asked to provide support to clients with OCONUS facilities (Outside the Continental United States). You may also be required to obtain specific licenses and/or certificates. If these are required, ConvergintFed will arrange for them.
Furthermore, you are required to hold a security clearance (TS). ConvergintFed will sponsor you to obtain or maintain your level of clearance. With that, you will need to be able to clear any screening for whatever level of clearance is required.
