With our continual growth, we are in search of a full time Service Technician to join our team of professionals at our Mid-Atlantic location in Columbia, MD.

This position requires a dynamic, dedicated, self-motivated, customer focused, organized, ethical and skilled professional with a solid grasp of integrated AV systems.

CCS Presentation Systems is an industry leader in custom AV solutions and pro AV technology systems integration. Established in 1991 and operates 23 branches across the United States. CCS is seeking an Service Technician for our growing Columbia MD based team

Job Summary:

The AV Service Technician will use their technical skills to troubleshoot issues when they arise to keep the customer's equipment functioning properly. The Technician will also help to ensure that equipment is installed and working properly by performing preventative maintenance in regularly scheduled intervals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • The service Technician will travel to customer sites to perform scheduled service and preventative maintenance on AV equipment
  • Technician will troubleshoot failures via phone when possible and will go onsite to test and identify issues when needed.
  • Technician will initiate RMA's from site when needed
  • Technician will submit detailed service reports following site visits

Qualifications:

  • Travel on-site to provide expert technical support to our client base.
  • Submit detailed service reports following site visits.
  • Manage ownership of client AV systems and maintain customer relationships.
  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on AV equipment.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Written and verbal communication skills to understand issues customers have and to explain technical information to customers in clear terms.
  • Computer and technical skills to understand the equipment fully.
  • Problem-solving skills to diagnose problems with malfunctioning equipment.
  • Time-management skills to handle appointments efficiently and stay on schedule.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills, attention to detail to spot issues and complete accurate reports about the repairs
  • Organizational skills to keep tools and paperwork organized while in the field.
  • Ability to follow directions.
  • Ability to lift 75lbs.
  • Cable installation. Cable termination. Device installation. Networking skills. General mechanical skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains electronic equipment such as audio, video, sound, lighting, and projection systems, as well as other systems as required.
  • Performing routine maintenance on technology equipment including firmware upgrades.
  • Testing equipment to troubleshoot the issues.
  • Work with Manufacturers to diagnose/confirm issues and initiate RMA's or Repairs where necessary.
  • Documenting installation and repairs.
  • Maintaining all tools and equipment used during service calls.
  • Teaching customers how to use the equipment properly.
  • Preparing detailed summary of the service visit and documenting necessary next steps
  • May assist with installations from time to time

Education/Experience/Certification:

  • 4-years (plus) experience integrating large-scale audio-visual systems.
  • CTS-I preferred
  • Ability to read & understand cabling pull schedules, floor plans, ceiling plans, riser diagrams & line diagrams.
  • Strong knowledge/experience of signal flow, audio visual signal types, connector types & terminations.
  • Strong knowledge/experience with control/automation system: Crestron, AMX, and Extron.
  • Strong knowledge/experience with audio DSP's: QSC, Biamp, Clearone
  • Driver's license and safe driving record required
