Job Description

Mission Statement

Core Responsibilities

  • The Senior Construction Specialist is responsible for overseeing compliance and training initiatives. The primary function of this role is to mitigate operator qualification and compliance gaps, and ensure utilization of applicable reporting systems. This position oversees training schedules for compliance with Federal, State, NYC, County, and company requirements. Additionally, they will be required to review, audit, and develop training processes for CMG contractors in conjunction with the Operator Qualification team. They will serve as the liaison with all CMG contractors to ensure their competency and understanding of qualification training and testing processes. Coordinate construction activities between company and contractor forces.
  • Adhere to Company and Governing Agency Policies to ensure all work is conducted safely, without causing injury or illness to employees, contractors, or the public, and with the utmost regard for environmental excellence, by complying with all relevant laws, rules, policies, and work practices, and performing duties to the highest standards of environmental protection and control.
  • Oversees scheduling and training of all employees and contractors to avoid working out of compliance standards.
  • Understanding of GasOpsIQ and its future impact. Willing to liaise with contractors for implementation and troubleshooting purposes, among other designations.
  • Conduct regular spot checks with contractors to verify the effectiveness of training, maintain adequate stock levels of materials and manage procurement processes, including personal protective equipment (PPE). Ensure a consistent field presence to audit and uphold compliance, and foster an injury-free environment that adheres to all compliance standards.
  • Coordinate and monitor field activities associated with the construction and maintenance of the Electric, Gas, Steam, Facilities, Remediation and all other construction work.
  • Have a working knowledge of the ITS system and Operator Qualifications.
  • Lead with a customer service focus, evaluate team performance, and contribute to resource planning and organizational strategies.
  • Evaluates the performance of the unit, assists in determining human and other resource needs and provides input into the organizations budget, training, safety and environmental plans and programs.
  • Provide essential support for the Project Construction Specialist and General Construction Manager, including monitoring and tracking departmental performance indicators, addressing construction issues, and preparing for departmental and executive presentations. Additionally, step in for the Manager or Project Specialist as needed, collaborating with engineering and support teams to develop equipment/system corrective action plans.
  • Provide a vision for employee, communicate the vision of plan the work, safety, environmental awareness, and business strength through customer service on regular basis.
  • Monitors compliance with Company policies and procedures e.g., equal employment Opportunity (EEO), Substance Abuse, Discipline, Security, Productivity and Environmental Instructions, Code of Conduct, etc.
  • Perform other related tasks and assignments as required.

Required Education/Experience

  • High School Diploma/GED and 6 years related experience. Related experience includes work experience in the construction, repair and inspection of electric, Gas, Steam, facilities and remediation etc. or
  • Associate's Degree in Construction management, or Technical Field (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, and Architecture) and 5 years related experience. Related experience includes work experience in the construction, repair and inspection of electric, Gas, Steam, facilities and remediation etc. or
  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction management, or Technical Field (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, and Architecture) and 3 years related experience. Related experience includes work experience in the construction, repair and inspection of electric, Gas, Steam, facilities and remediation etc.

Relevant Work Experience

  • Must be able to respond to Company emergencies by performing a System Emergency Assignment to restore service to our customers.
