Conquest Healthcare Management is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Billing Specialist to join our team.
Job Summary:
As a Billing Specialist, you will be responsible for accurately processing and managing medical billing and coding for our organization. Your role is crucial in ensuring timely reimbursement and maintaining accurate financial records.
Duties:
- Review and analyze medical records, systems, and coding to ensure accurate billing
- Assign appropriate medical codes (ICD-10, ICD-9, DRG) to diagnoses and procedures
- Prepare and submit claims to insurance companies electronically or by paper
- Follow up on unpaid or denied claims and resolve any billing discrepancies
- Collaborate with medical providers and insurance companies to resolve billing issues
- Maintain updated knowledge of medical terminology, coding guidelines, and insurance regulations
- Process payments received from insurance companies or patients
- Generate reports on billing activities and financial performance as needed
Experience:
- Proven experience as a Billing Specialist or similar role in the healthcare industry
- Strong knowledge of medical coding (ICD-10, ICD-9), medical billing processes, and medical terminology
- Familiarity with medical records systems and electronic health records (EHR)
- Experience in medical collection procedures is a plus
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record keeping
- Strong analytical skills to review and interpret complex medical information
