Position Summary

The Director will provide project and personnel leadership in a variety of locations throughout the US and Internationally on multiple consulting projects. The Director is instrumental in the success of client delivery and presentation, account management, client satisfaction, as well as internal business development and company growth. The Director assumes accountability for delivering requirements of the agreed upon SOW, identifying future business development opportunities, developing trusted advisor relationships with our clients and supporting company growth through active participation on strategic initiatives.

Job responsibilities:

  • Serve as Project Manager for multiple projects - responsible for daily leadership, project management and expertise on project teams, including time and motion studies, work measurement, cost-benefit analysis, and process re-engineering activities
  • Complete understanding of a project’s deliverables and statement of work. Responsible for articulating those details to the project team to our client’s satisfaction and metrics, on time and within budget.
  • Account Management for existing client project through establishing trusted advisor relationships, proactively identifying additional business opportunities and development of project proposals and presentations
  • Business development contributions outside of core client delivery focus and active participation on internal strategic initiatives.
  • Presentation of deliverables to client and providing change management expertise in implementation of solution.
  • Development and management of project budget and project deadlines. Identifying and mitigating engagement risks
  • Ability to quickly understand several client industries, environments, and ability to create strategies and implementation plans that align with client and project goals
  • Review and approval of all travel expenses, travel coordination, and project reviews
  • Coach and development of project team by providing proper support and direction, from both project and career perspective; ability to provide and engage in feedback, performance and personal development conversations
  • Responsible for self-time management, progress reporting of tasks to direct project lead and to stay productive whether onsite with a team, by yourself or working remotely
  • Conduct time and motion studies and work measurement tasks for development of engineered labor standards, cost-benefit analysis, and process re-engineering activities
  • Perform research into new technologies that provide efficiency gains for our clients’ businesses
  • Actively participate in trade shows, networking and recruiting opportunities
  • Travel extensively (60-80%), and sometimes independently, throughout the US and Internationally

  • Develop comprehensive presentations at the appropriate level of detail.
  • Effectively act as a technical expert and technical leader. Lead complex analytical work. Write comprehensive client reports and internal standard practices.
  • Demonstrate the role of the professional consultant and the technical skills required to be an effective Industrial Engineer
  • Demonstrate initiative, responsibility and analytical thinking
  • Demonstrate understanding of Top-Down ELS development, including Rt/Allowed Deviation and use of sensitivity analysis
  • Effectively write technical summaries to explain your work
  • Demonstrate strong Excel-based abilities, use of regression analysis and other data-mining techniques
  • Flexibility to work alternative hours, including evenings and weekends


Qualifications

Qualifications include:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering or equivalent
  • 10 years’ experience in a consulting role using Industrial Engineering principles, having led and managed client engagements across multiple industries
  • Strong communication and presentation skills; ability to drive deadlines on multiple projects
  • Strong understanding of project budgets, travel expense policy, travel coordination
  • Knowledge of change management principles, ability to create influence in implementing recommended solutions
  • Knowledge of and experience in implementing end-to-end project solutions, including industry and customer research, creating strategy and project vision, design and development of solution meeting SOW, and associated change management practices
  • Demonstrated leadership – with internal teams and clients, maintaining a positive attitude
  • Demonstrated ability to assess and solve problems
  • Ability to understand and create budgets
  • Knowledge of Connors Group performance management program, understanding of core competencies
  • Strong work ethic and capability to work independently
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office including: Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook
  • Mastery of core IE principles, including Labor Standards, MOST, time studies
  • Access to reliable auto transportation and a major US airport


Working conditions

Consultants, at times, must work in challenging, non-standard environments. This could include:

  • Time of day: Evenings (5 PM - 10 PM), overnight shifts (10 PM – 6 AM),
  • Day of week: Weekends (Saturday/Sunday)
  • Strenuous Activity: Continuous walking throughout the shift, standing on your feet the entire shift
  • Environmental: Client sites with abnormal temperatures, such as but not limited to, above 70°, between 37° and 50°, and below 32°
