We rely on a meticulous financial system to drive business forward. Our accounting department keeps those systems running smoothly by managing payments to vendors and collecting payments from clients. We’re searching for a skilled financial specialist to join our accounting team to help process, track, record & process payments in an accurate, efficient, and timely manner. The Accounts Payable/Receivable Associate will have both day-to-day and ongoing impact on financial transactions, keeping us on track, on time and on good terms with our valued partners.

Objective of this role:

• Support the company in optimizing our financial transactions and systems by performing reconciliation of payments and customer accounts.
• Communicate discrepancies to management team, identifying slow-paying customers and recommend hold and/or collection candidates.
• Strengthen and grow relationships with clients by communicating with customers regarding past-due accounts.
• Assist in streamlining accounts payable/receivable process by identifying areas of performance improvement.
• Exercise integrity and confidentiality in financial reporting.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Gather and verify invoices for appropriate documentation prior to payment.
• Maintain accounts payable/receivable records to ensure aging is current, credits and collections applied, uncollectable amounts are accounted for, and miscellaneous difference are cleared.
• Perform daily cash management duties, including the recording of bank deposits, updating and distribution of cash receipt logs, and posting of cash to the accounts payable/receivable ledger
• Monitor and collect accounts receivable by contacting clients via phone, email, and mail.
• Prepare analytical and ratio analysis relevant to AP/AR so management can gain better understanding of how payment/collection efforts are progressing.
• Support other accounting needs as specified by management

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Must have 3-5 years’ experience in accounts payable/receivable and understanding of basic principles of finance, accounting, and bookkeeping.
• Superb time management and detail orientation
• Proficient in all MS Office Suite programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc)
• Associate degree or equivalent
• Great problem solving and strategic thinking abilities.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Handle multiple projects simultaneously.
• Ability to prioritize and organize assignments.
