Position: HR Director
Location: San Bernardino, CA
Priority Ambulance and CONFIRE, a Joint Power Authority, formed by nine-member fire agencies in San Bernardino County, are parties to a public-private partnership that will provide emergency and non-emergency ambulance services in portions of San Bernardino County, California. Together Priority Ambulance and CONFIRE were selected to provide emergency and non-emergency ambulance services in portions of San Bernardino County, California.
Priority Ambulance will work directly with CONFIRE EMS-MOBILE HEALTH (CONFIRE EMS), a division of CONFIRE. Our mission is to provide a holistic approach to emergency medicine, including emergency medical ground ambulance transportation, 9-1-1, interfacility, and critical care transportation.
Priority Ambulance is currently recruiting for a Human Resources Director to join the Priority Ambulance and CONFIRE EMS team.

SUMMARY OF REPSPONSIBILITIES / DEFINITION

Human Resources Director (HR Director) is responsible for day-to-day oversight of human resources activities in their assigned area. They are also responsible for developing and overseeing an effective recruiting, screening, hiring, orientation, and onboarding program in the assigned area. In addition, the HR Director is responsible for assisting and supporting with all staff coaching, discipline and performance evaluations activities as well as monitoring operations in assigned area for compliance with company policy and local, state, and federal regulations.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • This position will provide direction and facilitate issues regarding employee relations, retention, labor relation, policy, labor contract interpretation, disciplinary procedures.
  • Demonstrates complete knowledge, understanding and compliance of company policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for monitoring staffing levels in all operations to maintain operational efficiency.
  • Ensures the security of all company computer systems by adhering to security procedures and utilizing appropriate passwords policies.
  • Managing the human resources management and payroll systems and providing leaders with the essential reporting to appropriately manage their employee resources.
  • Responsible for overseeing the tracking, monitoring and submitting of payroll and payroll corrections per company policy.
  • Receives and resolves any field crew questions, concerns or issues regarding pay, benefits, or other personnel issues.
  • Ensuring job descriptions are up-to-date and accurate.
  • Responsible for overseeing and developing / implementing programs to ensure that all field staff maintain appropriate certification and licensure for their position.
  • Ensuring organizational conformation with applicable human resources regulations and statues, as well as organizational procedures and policies.
  • Responsible for oversight, security, and maintenance of employee files in accordance with company policy in all local, state, and federal regulations and ordinances.
  • Assists Vice President of Operations in ensuring that operations are compliant with all local, state, and federal regulations and ordinances particularly those related to human resources activities.
  • Always maintains security and privacy of all company and patient information in accordance with HIPPA and all other local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Always acts with his/her personal safety in mind, as well as the safety of others.
  • Sets an example of professionalism and leadership for others to follow.
  • Assures all company goals, objectives and procedures are followed daily.
  • Ability to travel as needed.
  • Performs other duties as directed by management.

Minimum Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience as an HR leader in California.
  • Must have strong problem-solving and investigative skills.
  • Must have excellent administrative skills and be detailed orientated.
  • Must have strong project management, time management, and leadership skills.
  • Must manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must mentor and supervise staff.
  • Must have solid verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently on a broad variety of projects.
  • Must be willing to work additional hours to meet tight deadlines when needed.
  • Must be proficient with all Microsoft Office software packages.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Minimum of five years human resources experience in California.
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field / equivalent experience preferred.
  • SHRM certification preferred.
Salary Range: $150,000 - $165,000
