Overview: We are seeking a technical writer to develop and package learning content for professional military education. The ideal candidate will have experience working with instructional design teams and will understand the curriculum design process and the formats and processes by which learning content is integrated into existing programs of instruction or curricula.

Responsibilities for this role include:

• Write and edit various types of documents and templates
• Translate technical and/or complicated information into clear, concise templates for various target audiences
• Consult with subject matter experts, ISDs, and other technical staff to develop content and design document layouts
• Submit drafts for technical review and edit to accommodate requested changes to ensure the clarity, completeness, accuracy, and quality of documents created
• Incorporate editorial feedback into future documents without needing repeated reviews
• Manage multiple complex tasks with little or no oversight while also working effectively within a team to support varying workloads
• Conduct technical reviews of program materials to ensure accuracy

Security Clearance: Secret
Location: Crystal City, VA, with some remote work possible after onboarding
Travel: Some travel required (<10%) 3-4 days on-site

Required Education, Experience, and Skills:

• Bachelor's degree in English, writing, or related field (Master’s preferred)
• At least 3-5 years of technical writing for learning content
• Ability to write technical content for curricula
• Expertise with Microsoft Word and PowerPoint, including advanced formatting features
• Effective verbal and written communication
• Experience performing technical writing for secured documentation at a secured location
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and tools, as well as Adobe Professional or similar
• Highly refined writing skills, with impeccable attention to spelling, usage, grammar, and style
• Experience supporting and communicating with senior internal and external stakeholders
• Self-motivated with the ability to work with little oversight and supervision
• Ability to accurately describe technical information in simple, clear language
• Active Secret Clearance
• Experience with U.S. Army a plus
